It doesn't appear to have got light yet here. Sky is leaden, trees tossing and light rain falling. Grim!

Good luck with the eye test Sook.

Icya what a brilliant idea re your Mum's old home. Doubt mine could remember her childhood address but we could look at the houses I know.

I am spending a fortune on printing off photos of the grandchildren and getting really bored of showing Mum 6 photographs and saying, 'those 2 are DD1's children', 'those 2 are DD2's', 'those 2 are DD3's, 'those 2 are DD1's', 'those 2 are DD2's'. 'those 2 are DD3's', 'those 2 are DD1's children' etc, etc, etc! sad

(Posted before I meant too) Hope your mum is more cooperative today Kitty and Sook may your eye test be easy and not too uncomfortable.

It's overcast and breezy here today - makes a change from just overcast.

Thanks for reminding me Liz, it's our 'switch on' tonight and I thought I'd walk in. DH is of the Bah Humbug school of thought and I'm now facing the annual push to get him slightly enthusiastic, made worse this year as we're going to DD2 for Christmas lunch.

Hello sook good luck with the eye test - I know what you mean about the peripheral test.

LizG Fri 29-Nov-13 08:46:19

Good morning everyone. Dark and dull here but a pleasant weekend promised. Carol singing tomorrow as the lights are switched on in town.

Bit late up again today! Good morning to all.
It's slightly blowy and mild, and I should go for a walk when I eventually get dressed.

"Poets" day berdie, P**s Off Early, Tomorrow's Saturday! grin

kittylester I hope your mum is doing better today. Mine was on good form yesterday. We looked at her childhood home on Streetview on the iPad (She hasn't been back for about 50 years.) Lots of talk about who lived next door and whose daughter went to school with her. Really good.

berdie Fri 29-Nov-13 08:35:56

Morning all, overcast and very windy, here in Bradford. Still it's Friday and two days off to look forward to. smile

Sook Fri 29-Nov-13 08:26:10

Pleasant morning here, slight breeze and quite mild. Not sure if the sun is going to appear yet but live in hope.

Eye clinic this morning I dread the peripheral vision test the most.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning to you all, dreary here also, but as I keep saying, it is NOVEMBER, with only four weeks to go until Christmas. I really love Christmas, and don't mind the bustle at all. Shopping for me too today and buying tickets for a train journey tomorrow to have lunch with friends. We think it might be a long lunch, so are not chancing the car, because my husband has problems driving in the dark. I gave up driving years ago, I was a danger on the roads! Enjoy your days.

Seems dark. Dam predictive text.grin

Black Friday is another American sales gimmick. It's the Friday after Thanksgiving, it's a bit like our Boxing Day sales. 'Happy' people happy to spread their money without actually thinking if it's a bargain or not...but then I'm cynical.
It's just gone 8am and it still beers dark. Dull overcast another day to stay in bed.
Yesterday I posted two parcels. One cost £8.90 to chester and it's already arrived. The other that weighed just 108grams cost £3.00 to post. Ridiculous. Apparently courier companies are much cheaper. WhT experience have other GN'ers had with them please.

Grannyknot Fri 29-Nov-13 07:43:15

what for ...

Grannyknot Fri 29-Nov-13 07:43:04

Icy that sounds like bliss. Mick we like Endeavour so now I have a bit of trivia to impart to husband.

I'm lucky enough to "work from home" today, and will try and stay off GN.

Can anyone tell me why or what do we have "Black Friday"?

Icyalittle Fri 29-Nov-13 07:38:22

Good morning. Dark and mild in Wiltshire. A bit sleepy. My DD with our first GS of 6 months staying for a couple of nights, so that I can help a bit - he's having a sleep regression and yelling every hour over night. I can at least take him off now so that she can go back to bed for a couple of hours. Which means he's MINE for a couple of hours smile smile smile

kittylester Fri 29-Nov-13 07:17:54

Still dark here but mild, as kiora says. Glad your husband is enjoying his car.

Enjoy your trip and shopping Mick

I'm going to Sainsbury's again and then to visit mum who has been put on a different course of antibiotics, won't keep the oxygen canula in and is refusing to eat. Apart from that she is fine grin

Kiora Fri 29-Nov-13 06:52:04

Hello and good morning mick. Hope you enjoy your shopping. Still dark here in Kent but very very mild. My hubby has gone to work very happy.. Fried breakfast and nice comfortable reliable car. I imagine him Cruising along the M20 & M25 in luxury. So I feel very relieved. Bike packed away in the garage until May. Phew relief. Take it easy everyone

Good Morning Everyone,
Up early still dark, anyway shopping day today , and yesterday I did Oxford again with Bicester, as I had a xmas present to buy.
