Cloudy day in Rio, mid twenties and drizzling on and off. Am not feeling too smug however will be flying back to London late Friday, arriving Saturday and looking on the internet have seen several plans practically landing sideways due to high winds in the UK. It seems this weather may still be around at the week-end. I am feeling a tad on the nervous side. Oh well have 3 Diazepan, left to calm me down if it's a bit rough!

I have now discovered that what looked, from inside, like a present from a pigeon was really a dead leaf with a large cobweb attached. grin

Only on the hosepipe anno wink

annodomini Thu 19-Dec-13 10:36:48

Lona, I bought a new hose last month and still haven't worked out how to connect it with the outside tap. I'm usually a good at that sort of thing. Am I losing my grip? hmm

Hi all.
Clear and bright here. The little bit of painting I did on an outside wall yesterday has survived the rain...I did have to put the blow heater on it to dry it!
Wondering if I am now up to going out this aft to a group I am not sure is on. I need to phone. Would like to see people, as I have been unwell and missed the U3A Xmas lunch and do on Tues.

Sadly, they have found the body of the missing teenager Jayden here.

Good morning, raining here and we are in the clouds. DH went shopping early and it came down before he got back. We have a new indoor/outdoor weather thermometer thing and it fascinates me that it can tell me it is foggy even though it is positioned in a dry sheltered place.
I'm off to a Christmas lunch later as well but after taking a couple of others home I think we'll just collapse in a heap.

Hose pipe anno? A short, sharp blast might do it!

annodomini Thu 19-Dec-13 09:54:04

After a short sharp storm last night is this the calm before the next one. A spiteful bird has 'decorated' one of my windows and the window cleaner won't be here until the new year. I am not getting up a ladder but can I wait ten days till my tall BiL arrives? tchhmm

A lovely, calm morning now in Devon, thank goodness! Now waiting for an enormous Sainsbury's delivery (after which I will go and get what I had forgotten!)

Out for a Christmas Lunch at my Rotary club, then, later, to the GP for an injection in the other knee, which has been complaining a great deal recently. Then a little lie down, perhaps?

Hi there all calm here in Kent. Blue sky and mild. Husband glad he has nice warm reliable car over the last few stormy days. Hope your all managing to find some calm over these last few days in the run up to Christmas.

Charleygirl Thu 19-Dec-13 08:44:37

I can sleep through anything ansd true to form I did not notice the storms last night.

It is calm here in NW London and the sun is peeping through.

I could not be bothered with any more food shopping so I gave in and for a fiver, Sainsburys will deliver Saturday mid afternoon.

Good morning, calm here too, after the storm, I am up late again this morning, it is becoming a habit, so I have just popped in to say hello and enjoy your days, then I am off to get the shepherds pie on the go and play bowls AGAIN!

LizG Thu 19-Dec-13 08:26:51

Good morning everyone. I see a very light blue sky out there, must make the most of it. My daughter - now a 'grown up' biker - has been using my car to get to work because of the storms. She is now off until after Christmas so I get my car back !!yippee!! Well I will do once she has finished her Christmas shopping!

Brendawymms Thu 19-Dec-13 08:22:27
