The King and I

Anything to do with Lassie either the series or one of the films,I just know I will need a handful of tissues at the ready.

When I was in Mexico they showed a trilogy of films for Mothers Day that was tailored made for me. Terms of Endearment, Step Mom and Steel Magnolias. My other trilogy would be Prince of Tides, The Way we Were and Beaches. When I have insomnia I watch An Affair to Remember, Now Voyager and Notorious.
However the film I watch regularly is Last of the Mohicans . It may be more recent but it's a good old fashioned yarn that takes me back to my childhood.

Well, Gone with the Wind certainly had me shedding a few tears at the end, yesterday. Sometimes it depends on my mood, if I'm feeling boshie I won't cry!

Humbert you and I could have a sentimental journey together - I love Prince of Tides, The Way We Were, and Beaches.

Husband and I never get tired of Last of the Mohicans either.

For some reason I love Platoon (must be reminiscent of a time in my life) and I can watch that over and over. I think I was a bit in love with Tom Berenger for a while.

I love "Shadowlands" with Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger.

Does anyone else remember Michael Sarrazin in "The Sweet Ride"? (bearing in mind I grew up in a surfing city on the east coast of South Africa) - anyway I couldn't even find much info about it (although I remembered the actor and can still picture him, I'd love to know what happened to him, he disappeared), but I did find this - slightly hilarious - summary:

I watched The King and I too, enjoying the songs and the fantastic costumes and sets.
I looked up Yul Brynner on wiki, and did you know he wasn't very tall - 5ft 8. He's so majestic in the film - just shows character is more important than physical build.
I love all musicals, best is West Side Story.

They all have me in floods of tears.

Oh, and The Champ as well.

The ONLY choice for me was The Old Curiosity Shop, on an ancient VHS tape.
The reason?
As Oscar Wilde said 'One would have to have a heart of stone to read the death of little Nell without dissolving into tears...of ............ laughter.'
