Hope you had a good Christmas, Mick Pretty much the same weather and situation here as with you.

Windy - and dark still here. Good morning everyone - hope you all had a good Christmas and best wishes for the New Year. Back to normal for us too. DS and family went home yesterday. They stayed one night with DiL's parents and one night with us - new DGS at 12 weeks, still hates sleeping anywhere but face down on someone's front so night's are not quiet so they spead the angst! We were both able to relieve them a bit so they could catch up their sleep - brought back many memories. (Loved it - it was great for one night)

Good morning from a very blustery north east. Yesterday it was frosty all day but this morning it is mild but probably not a day for walking.

Good morning, everyone - still dark here in South Manchester. Yesterday was a lovely, relaxing day. I got my kitchen back to normal from the bomb site we had created on Christmas Day, sliced and froze the remainder of the turkey, vegged out on the sofa till teatime, then went to my daughter's for a Christmassy buffet, which my two year old grandaughters shared, sat either side of me, watching intently and chorusing in stereo 'what's that, me try, what's next?' throughout our meal. Lovely to reflect back to two years ago when they both came home from SCBU over the Christmas period, weighing just 4 lbs, tiny scraps who are now busy toddlers tearing round the house and bringing such joy tchsmile

Good morning from a bright and mild Dordogne. Looking good out there so far. Nothing special planned except for book club early evening and I have promised to take some nibbles. Have a good day whatever your plans.

Wet and windy here in kent. Grey again. Staying in to clean clean, clean up the chaos. The house is quiet for the first time in days. Mixed feelings about that..miss the company but glad to have a day with just hubby and me. Hope you all had a happy Christmas

In the North East its very blustery but seems mild as we dont have the hard frost we held on to all day yesterday, but I think the wind has calmed a little it seemed worse through the night ...I hope the roof is still on up the road tchshock will have to go and check tomorrow if the weather is ok.

Good morning from East Sussex. grey, windy and wet. Something hit the window in the night and woke me but the wind seems to be lessening. DD and 2GC leave today. The children's father will collect them on route and DD will go home on her own. Such is divorced life!

A grey morning here in Sandhurst. All quiet. DS has gone to work, both DGDs still asleep and it's a fair bet that DGS is playing computer games as I am in his room and he is sharing a room with the computer. Home tomorrow.

Morning all, it's very very windy here, the bin from across the road has been blowing about since last night, but they clearly can't hear it!

Had a huge, delicious meal at ds's yesterday, and lots of fun with dgc, so I'm happy tchsmile
Unfortunately dgd has a dreadful chesty cough which she has kindly shared with me! Don'cha just love 'em?

Good morning to you all, very damp and 'orrible 'ere. Such a lovely day yesterday - good thing we have the weather to talk about! Enjoyed our day with our family here yesterday, so back to the quiet of just two of us, and clearing up. We have had a really good Christmas, spent too much ate too much, and bought too much, but what the hell, we enjoyed it. Enjoy your days everyone.

Good morning all and glad to see you Mick. Its dismal here but at least the rain has stopped. We are having our family get together today with cold cuts, etc. so that should be fun. They (not me, of course tchsmile) tend to start eating at 3 and stop when the food has gone. My OH is slender so I don't know where he puts his food as he has a healthy appetite.

It is still dull but dry in NW London. We appear to have escaped the worst of the weather and my roof remains intact.

I had toast and coffee in bed this morning, watching TV. Unfortunately the housekeeper, personal maid, doorkeeper etc are all on holiday so I had to make it myself but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I need to venture out as I am running out of basics such as bread.

So sorry for all you people down in the south, more gales and more rain.
How much more can you take, we are thinking about you.
As for the Moray Firth, sun shinning and not a breath of wind, amazing how much of a contrast there is in the weather today.
Hope you all keep safe and have a lovely day. I'm off to the sales!!!

Bellasnana Fri 27-Dec-13 10:32:34

Good morning. It looks like the end of the world here - dark, windy and pouring with rain. Definitely a day for staying indoors. Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning every one, I have missed you all due to the fact I have had no internet for nearly a week, owing to lightning strikes on the 21st. The ferry between Isle of Skye and the Hebrides ran on Christmas day, first ever in CalMacs history, because so many people were stranded trying to get home. I hope everyone with flood and weather problems are safe and well. smile

Absolutely filthy here in South Wales, lost another panel from the greenhouse, dustbin managed to fly into the wall, heavy rain and high winds most of the night, eased off a bit about 10ish today went out with the dogs and the heavens opened with a hail storm, Roof still holding, Not going out again until 2nd dog walk. Try and stay safe everyone.smile

Well we had our high winds and expected rains at 2am on 25th.Woken by a dripping noise on the ready covered sofa in the living room. (Had leaks there before) Then discovered the duvet was wet through. Sheets and mattress still dry so spent the rest of the night in a sort of sandwich of plastic bags and folded bath towels to soak it up. Fortunately it eased up enough for our guests to get here for a late Christmas dinner and we didn't have any power cuts.
Today is just grey and drizzly, gloomy but not damaging or dangerous. I feel so sorry for the many coping with flooding and lack of power.
Stay safe everyone.
