As if this time of year isn't stressful enough, we now have brown water.
This happened yesterday so I rushed to Tesco to buy bottles of water as we have DD2 and her Dh plus Ellie, 2, and Lottie, 3 months, coming to stay for 4 days, [panicemoticon] and, tomorrow, we are hosting a 'Boxing Day' buffet for 17 people. Tesco had NO water as there was a burst water pipe in town so I trekked 12 miles to a huge Asda and bought 30 litres. By the time I got home the water was fine.
Got up this morning and the water is brown again! DD2 is bringing water from darn souff but I have two loads of washing waiting to go in, haven't cleaned my teeth yet, I probably had a shower is brown water and didn't notice. I can't wash up, boil potatoes for tomorrow's bubble and squeak, put the dishwasher on etc. The toilets look worse after flushing than before.
I suppose the only consolation is that we'll have to drink wine to conserve the water.
House about to go on the market. Any useful tips?
