Good morning all. Rumour has it we are in line for sunshine but I haven't opened the curtains to check yet. It's my older grandson's birthday today so the celebrations go on.

Good morning everyone. Bright here this morning but raining heavily -because it is so bright I did not realise it was raining till I opened the door.
I hope the poor people back in UK with no power and flooded houses have a better day today.

Good morning all; A bit chilly today, am wearing thick dressing gown present and those thick fluffy alpine looking socks present I got for xmas.I am looking forward to this evening so much, as my friend who is 88 years old and always enters competitions in the local newspaper, has won 4 tickets to see Peter Pan in Manchester tonight! So she has invited me along.(Maybe I should get her on Gransnet to enter competitions, as she is always winning something!

Good morning - bright, sunny and cold here too. Still in bed wearing fleecy bed jacket. We had the family over yesterday, saw a children's show and went out for dinner after they had left so planning a lazy day today.

Good morning all. Bright and frosty here in kent. Makes a change. I'm with Bez in hoping any gransnetters were not too affected by the floods. It must be so terrible. Our homes little or small, grand or modest are our sanctuary.

Good morning. It is cold and very frosty here in NW London. The sun is peeping through so that is a bonus. I would like the grass and ground to dry a bit before the next round of storms, I think due tonight.

off to find some felt nails today to nail the felt on the shed back on hmm as it seems we are in for more storms.. the fence can wait for another day............. we have been very lucky when we watch the news..it almost seems that you cannot believe things like this happen in the uk.

Bright and cold here in Cheshire. I arrived home after dark yesterday and didn't see that my little plastic-covered greenhouse was in the middle of my gravel bed - again! I will have to remove the cover which was pretty badly torn in the previous gale.

AlieOxon Sun 29-Dec-13 09:46:12

anno I have had to put mine back together!
Bright here, not long awake, the insomnia from steroids seems to be receding.

Thistledoo Sun 29-Dec-13 09:56:09

Mornin all, its a beautiful day here. Hope you all have a bit of restbite from the rain and wind. Off to Currys to buy new phones as the old ones have given up the ghost. Wonder if I'll be lucky and get some in the sale.
Hope you all have a good day.

Glorious here. Clear pale blue sky, sun lighting up the silver birch to a soft golden-white. BUT icy roads after a heavy frost. Yorkshire contingent arrive this afternoon so off to bake!

dustyangel Sun 29-Dec-13 10:14:44

Good morning all, sunny bright morning here but decidedly chilly as well.
Have a good day everyone.

harrigran Sun 29-Dec-13 11:15:32

Good morning from the sunny north east, cool but calm.

Lona Sun 29-Dec-13 11:19:17

Good morning, bright and sunny here, and it had been raining quite a lot by the looks of the road.

Had an early facetime call from little dgd to say she's coming for tea and she is going to have a chocolate biscuit at nana's house!
She is the light of my life tchsmile

dustyangel Sun 29-Dec-13 11:37:00

Lona that sounds lovely. Sometimes I get so broody for little grandchildren. Mine are 18,20 and 22 and it's just not the same.

Good morning from East Sussex. Frosty this morning but dry and bright. My head is full of cold and having just had a glass of sherry is doubly dizzy!
