Nonu wish my DH had said that [ but not likely I have to admit!]Our resolutions are only just holding up , but I am determined to keep on with them, because I think it will help us. I must stop saying things like 'won't you need a coat?' as he is not 5 yrs old and he must stop being critical and 'nitpicking' grrrrrr.

Surely, saying things over and over are sign of familiarity and content if they are said in a kindly, teasing way. Obviously, one has to have new saying that replace others on an ongoing basis. That works for us - or are we boring - don't answer that!!

ginny can see what you mean; all jokes lose their novelty when heard for umpteenth time! Mind you, I always thought that neither of us would become the kind of old codgers that repeat themselves with anecdotes of the past, but it seems that we are, as I began saying something to my son the other day and a glazed look came into his eyes!

I've just asked OH for his suggestion and after a bit of consideration he offered: find a hobby that you stick with! That was a surprise...
