South staffs is still grey and wet and squelchy. And none too warm.

It is a beautiful day here in North Devon - hard to believe the storms of the last few days, until you get out and about and see the damage to sea defences.

Happy memories for you dustyangel. I wish you were still here - there don't seem to be any Gransnetters locally sad

Good morning all. grey and very, very windy here. At least there's no rain today.

Bella, I spent a winter in Malta 40 plus years ago. It should have been longer but DH got an injury in the RN and we had to come home.
I can remember that summer seemed well established in early May and letting my precious three month old baby have her toes dipped in the Med. before we left.

Kiora - yes, on the whole we do have mild winters here. However, it feels cold indoors as most people do not have central heating and the houses tend to be quite difficult to heat. Ours is 500 years old and used to be part of a farmhouse. It is lovely in summer but very damp and chilly in winter. I shouldn't complain as winter doesn't last long here, and I will be moaning again in a few months when it gets too hot! In fact we have booked to be in Kent for the whole of August to escape the worst of it! grin

Hello from dull, damp, dreary Cheshire.
Nfk enjoy that babysitting, sunshine I had my little tot yesterday and we had such fun. Piggy backs were the new favourite along with blowing up balloons [booons] and letting them go, and standing on my wide windowsill, watching the rain and waving at strangers!
Needless to say, I am shattered today!

Out for lunch later, lots to chat about smile

Hello Mick & all. Still mild and raining in kent. It's so depressing but not as depressing as having a flooded home. So I best stop moaning. 5 year old granddaughter asleep upstairs. She fell out of bed twice last night. It didn't bother her but it bothered me so I didn't sleep well. I will be treated to a couple of hours of dancing shows today. She will be wearing the tutu I bought her for Christmas. It's very cute for the first 15 minutes but wears a bit thin after that. she is very bossy and I will have to watch like an obedient old nanna. Enjoy the babysitting Nfk. Hope the marmalade sets Marmie. Are your winters mild in Malta Ballasnana?

Good morning from an overcast Malta. No plans for the day. It is an effort to get out of bed, but I must force myself.

Hope you all have a good day sunshine

Morning all, it's still dark here in North Leicestershire, but I can hear heavy rain beating on the window.

I hope the rain stops before I go to the village.

Enjoy your days, everyone.
