I haven't contributed to gransnet very much. A question of making myself at home in the forum. It is a cold and drab day in N. Herts. I am thoughtful, a big move to be near my daughter in Lymington, Hants. I think I could start a new thread about house moving and the resulting stress.

Ouch Galen, that sounds painful. Just back from 4 mile walk, counting our blessings as we were back before the rain started. Given the walk, I've over eaten right now, and enjoyed every morsel.

Afternoon all, sun struggling to come through very heavy cloud cover, that has, according to local radio, " been pushed down from the UK". I hope that means you're going to get better weather folks.

Nellie I hope you are feeling a bit better now. I woke up very stiff and achy but realised that it was because I'd thrown the throw off (sounds a lot more energetic than it was) when I was too warm last night and then curled up too tight when I got cold.

What a pain that is Galen injuring your right shoulder. I broke my R ball joint some years ago and then the top of the arm about 18 months ago - I had to cut baggy T shirts and pin them on - I really feel for you - glad you have help there. Do you have a sling ? Hope you manage to get some sleep.

The stA are very nice. The food is ok, it's just that I'm bored and piassed off?

That's a pretty catholic selection, Galen. Presumably you have access to radio and TV either in your room or on the i-pad.

Happy birthday Kitty, mine too! Been for a walk up a hill, wet & windy! Now getting ready for the second storm in 24 hrs, in this part of SW Scotland. Hope there's no more flooding. We're safe up a hill with wood burning stove all cosy! X

Thank you all for my birthday wishes too. Ive had a lovely day with some visitors, DH's team won and the chicken I cooked was lovely. Then I heard that my nephew has cancer. He is 47 but, nevertheless, still one of the children.

Oh kitty. Glad you have had a nice day but what a way for it to end. I do hope your nephew will make a full recovery
