I haven't contributed to gransnet very much. A question of making myself at home in the forum. It is a cold and drab day in N. Herts. I am thoughtful, a big move to be near my daughter in Lymington, Hants. I think I could start a new thread about house moving and the resulting stress. cupcake

*KittyL" Happy Birthday. flowers

Galen Sun 05-Jan-14 12:40:39

Typing L handed one fingered on iPad

Nelliemoser Sun 05-Jan-14 12:39:35

Ouch!
When I first had my right shoulder done I had to type with my left hand it made a lot of things quite difficult, particulary with mouse clicks. I was constantly deleting things by moving the wrong way. I am wondering how you will manage. with that.

Galen Sun 05-Jan-14 12:33:06

Happy birthday.

Galen Sun 05-Jan-14 12:32:33

Dislocated R shoulder, reaching for kindle.
Beware folks, technology is dangerous.

Galen, as per usual I've missed whatever happened to you. I do hope you are ok?

Grey and damp in North Leicestershire. We were meant to be driving to a lovely pub in Rutland for lunch today as it's my 65th birthday but the forecast is so bad that I did a very kind thing and offered to cook so that DH can watch his beloved team on the TV. [haloemoticon] And he did buy me a lovely gold bangle. sunshine

Bellasnana Sun 05-Jan-14 12:22:27

Sending Galen best wishes for a speedy recovery flowers

harrigran Sun 05-Jan-14 12:13:39

That's the way Galen, make sure you can keep in touch. With your determination you will be back home soon flowers

Nelliemoser Sun 05-Jan-14 11:43:06

Galen Sun 05-Jan-14 11:37:44

Morning. Grey here.
The staff have washed and dressed me and I'm feeling a little more steady on my feet.teaching myself to type L handed!

Lona Sun 05-Jan-14 11:02:54

An even later good morning from me. Putting an extra throw on my bed has turned me into lazy 'stay in bed'!
Nellie sorry you don't feel too good, keep warm flowers

It's so dull here, I think it will be a day of doing nothing much.

harrigran Sun 05-Jan-14 10:55:37

Good morning. The sky was terrific last night so it was not surprising to find a heavy frost this morning.
My lazy day has just gone, DS has asked us to go and amuse GC because they are driving their parents nuts and they need to do important tasks hmm

KatyK Sun 05-Jan-14 10:50:59

A bit dull in Brum, but dry and the wind has dropped.

Sook Sun 05-Jan-14 10:21:08

Sorry to hear you are feeling unwell Nellie take care flowers

Nelliemoser Sun 05-Jan-14 10:16:52

A late good morning from Cheshire, it's hazy here. I have a lurgy and still feel shivery and achy. I might crawl back to bed but too much lying down or sitting about makes my back lock up. I can't win what ever I do. I don't feel much better this morning.

Sook Sun 05-Jan-14 10:11:57

My corner of Cheshire had a glorious sunrise this morning. It's clouding over now and the wind is whipping up. Not to worry at least the washing will dry.

Thistledoo Sun 05-Jan-14 10:00:37

Good morning all, beautiful cloudless sky this morning, really hard frost, everywhere is white. Off out for a walk just now but will have to watch my feet as its very icy. So sorry for all you poor folk with continuous rain, it must be very depressing. Nice to read of your son's success, you have every reason to feel proud Nfk.

Grannyknot Sun 05-Jan-14 09:54:29

We had the most gorgeous sunrise here in SW London this morning. There is still some wintry sunshine and we are heading off for a pub lunch with friends, a final farewell to the holiday season.

Bellasnana Sun 05-Jan-14 09:48:15

Good morning all. Very overcast and gloomy here but it hasn't put my DH off - he has gone off with the Ramblers just the same.

Congrats to your son Nfk - no wonder you are proud of him flowers

Stansgran Sun 05-Jan-14 09:08:31

Heavy frost but blue sky in Durham.

NfkDumpling Sun 05-Jan-14 07:35:28

Good morning everyone. Dry and bright in North Norfolk and Jupiter is still bright in the west. Had a very, very wet and horrible day in Kings Lynn yesterday with DiL and ultra cute DGS while DS took an on line foundation course exam. He past with flying colours. I'm a dead chuffed mum this morning, that he studied at the same time as cooping with a demanding time at work, a new baby and renovating their home. I think he must take after his dad.

LizG Sun 05-Jan-14 06:58:19

Good morning Mick and everyone else. Its dry here in Somerset at the moment but sadly the forecast is not good at all. So fed up with this weather!
