Great news Galen. I bet you are thrilled - but do take care not to overdo it. flowers

Pleased to hear that news, galen flowers

annodomini Mon 06-Jan-14 13:38:01

So pleased for you, Galen. Please don't try to do too much. smile

Galen Mon 06-Jan-14 14:11:08

I won't, I promise.

Galen I hope your lovely neighbour will be on hand to help out when needed. Apart from having to cope with the residual pain things as simple as getting dressed in the morning (those pesky bra straps!) can cause real problems. Probably a little extra help around the house wouldn't go amiss either. flowers Take care.

Take care Galen sending flowers

Lona Mon 06-Jan-14 14:40:25

Good news Galen, take it steady flowers

I have only just caught up with this and send lots of good wishes for a speedy recovery.

Elegran Mon 06-Jan-14 15:12:07

Galen I hope it improves soon and that you get lots of help. Are you in the nursing home you were talking about or in hospital?

Did they give you any exercises to do? They just said to me "Use it normally but don't overdo it" which was not very helpful - how much is overdoing it?

I found some excellent exercises online from Oxford Hospitals Physiotherapy Department which I am doing daily to get the strength back. Still can't reach very far up my back, but can do most things.

Just seen this and not sure what happened, but I hope you make a pain free speedy recovery.

Lilygran Mon 06-Jan-14 16:51:16

What bad luck. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Hello Galen, and best wishes for a quick recovery.

glassortwo Mon 06-Jan-14 19:47:59

Glad you are going home galen but take it easy.

Galen Mon 06-Jan-14 20:03:05

DD is visiting tomorrow and staying overnight. My GP is supposed to ring me tomorrow, the consultant said to tell him to refer me for urgent physio.
Be glad to get home. The lady opposite keeps shouting and banging for attention. The one next door keeps moaning 'please help me, somebody please help me'. The place is obviously understaffed.
They don't even have sky tv so no history channel.

Marelli Mon 06-Jan-14 20:11:33

Oh Galen.....it must be vastly understaffed and I do wonder what the hourly rate is for the staff that are working there. hmm

Galen Mon 06-Jan-14 20:21:38

Under £7 an hour. I've just been talking to the night carer( lovely motherly sort) and she says her son has been waiting for a reply to his job application here since before Xmas

Marelli Mon 06-Jan-14 20:50:08

And yet the charges for those having the 'privilege' of staying there is very high....hmm.

Galen Mon 06-Jan-14 20:55:07

Quite. You just wait until I tell you what happened at our 'marvellous' nhs!

Riverwalk Mon 06-Jan-14 20:59:07

I don't know what's happened but it sounds grim! Hope your stay there is brief.

merlotgran Mon 06-Jan-14 21:18:19

Oh Dear, poor you, Galen. You obviously can't wait to get back home.

Whatever has happened I wish you a speedy recovery.

Flowerofthewest Mon 06-Jan-14 22:26:19

~Thinking of you Galen, sorry didn't know you were under the weather. Hope you feel better soon xxx

I'm HOME bliss!
Just had the bill, they've charged me for 4 days. I went in sat afternoon. Went home before midday today . Is it my maths or theirs?

Dragonfly1 Tue 07-Jan-14 12:27:31

They've charged Saturday and today as full days. How rude. Even my dog's boarding kennel doesn't do that! Hope you're on the mend.
