DH has gone out to play...

My husband plays golf , but if the weather is bad he doesn't. I would gladly pack him up a Downton style picnic (well almost) if it meant having the house to myself! even to do housework on my own.

Merlot There is no way I make sandwiches for my hubby before he goes out to play. He usually starts doing it fifteen minutes after he should have left.

The Sob would refuse to buy a cup of tea and a butty in a cafe instead. He drove a 16 miles round trip within an hour on Thursday when he could easily have bought a snack in Morrison's cafe and saved all that mileage.

That's why the NHS is going to wrack and ruin - paying my DH to sit in a park eating sandwiches etc.

And he gets funding for that?!

When we retired I was adamant that I would not be left with all the housework, so it is now "shared" (although sometimes it would be easier to just do it myself!) When DH goes out on a hobby related day (too rarely if you ask me) I consider myself free to pursue my hobbies and deliberately don't do housework unless essential.
What I really hate is when DH doesn't do anything I consider useful - i.e. just reads the paper or watches t.v. Then I nag him until he does partake of his hobbies. I know I should leave him alone as it's not my business but it just really irritates me. Luckily we both have plenty of hobbies on the go.

I should actually have said that the police questioned him because he was seen going into the park most days and people living nearby had been taking car numbers down to report habitual 'cottagers'.

What he was actually doing, poor man, was eating his sandwiches, reading the paper and listening to the Archers.

Thanks to all of you for your good wishes for my birthday. DD called in this morning but failed to wish me happy birthday. She forgot..... I was a bit upset but when I returned from choir she had left a bottle of wine for me. Am I being a bit of a diva for feeling hurt? Have really enjoyed all the good wishes from GNs though, made me feel quite honoured.
Just finishes the meal. It was quite good, salad, quorn burgers and packet of microwave rice. That's good for him, bless him. I drank the wine whilst he cooked.

My son was plagued by a repeated ingrowing toenail in his teens. The doctor removed the nail (with a local anaesthetic) but the problem came back when it grew in. A chiropodist sorted it out, though I don't know how.

Back to DH. He's got his old float plane out today. It's all very sweet.

I just hope they know where the flooded field stops and the river starts!

And I am sure the singing will be very melodious.

I'm having a day off housework today, far too busy. Clinic apt and choir practice. Mr T cooking the evening meal as its my birthday. I'm dreading it. Have a nice day Jingle.
