FlicketyB like you, I find that if I don't get stuck in first thing, the day drifts by and it doesn't let done.

To be honest, I find that the days when I make a jobs list and stick to it, are my happiest days. Don't know if it's the physical moving about, or what.

Yes I make "to do" lists also jings and not only get more done but also feel a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction when I have done. I like ticking things off the list! Getting stuck in first thing is also my MO. Reckon it's just down to how we are wired!

I like cleaning windows and ironing, hate DIY, dusting and cleaning the bathroom. I don't clean the oven. It said self-cleaning and I took it at its word.
I wonder why so many people hate ironing?

All your comments about not doing housework is very reassuring! I like a clean and tidy house but I hate wasting time doing the chores. I used to have a neighbour who did all the housework according to a daily/weekly/monthly rota and was quite obsessive about it. I always felt her house wasn't a home but her busyness made me feel guilty. Once, when my ex had the kids for a few hours I took myself off for the afternoon and passing this neighbour in the street she remarked that I was 'off out again' in a rather tight voice. I smiled and asked what should I do instead and her reply was that I could 'stay in and do the housework!' I ignored her but I can still hear her voice now, nearly forty years later!

For those who hate dusting, you do use one of these don't you? They are very quick.

Strangely enough I do have one of those - and a bigger one too. When I have my annual dusting operation, I sometimes do it with a pair of old socks on my hands.

I've got a long one similar to that which is great at getting the cobwebs off the walls and ceilings! (When I can be bothered...)

Some housework upsets my dodgy back... mostly ironing and vacuuming.

Hate it all, all of it - but love it when it's done. I feel sort of pleased with myself that I consider myself a useless housekeeper but everything is reasonably clean and well kept. Hate changing beds but love getting into a bed with clean linen. Every cloud.....

I just let all the household chores build up (apart from bathrooms and kitchen) and then have a huge clearing up/cleaning session, usually just before going away or when visitors are expected. I quite like ironing, but only on my terms. I thought I missed ironing shirts but have been on SiL's shirt duty for 2 months while I have been in Oz.......problem cured! What I do like about housework is the feeling of satisfaction once it is done and knowing I have a few weeks freedom

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I love ironing!
I clean to a fairly healthy standard if visitors are expected. It's worth having a dinner party just to get the house clean - but exhausting. Next day is great - no cooking (as we eat the leftovers) and definitely no cleaning.

I like ironing but my standard of housework depends on how angry / anxious / worried I am. When things are going well the house gets increasingly grubby but DH always knows to steer clear if I'm energetically cleaning usually retreating to the shed.

Ah, the joy of lists, jingl I believe that I have admitted this before, but I sometimes make lists that include things I have already done, just for the satisfaction of crossing them off!

HATE ironing with a vengeance. It gives me suicidal thoughts. But on the rare occasions when I get to the bottom of the ironing basket, I must admit to feeling smug. I have recently started to enjoy vacuuming. I fear I may be turning into my mother.

jingle take care with heading outdoors - my DH recently got locked in the woodshed (accidentally) when the door swung shut behind him. I was working 200 miles away. Luckily he had his mobile phone with him and rang a friend. (Who takes a mobile phone with them to fill the log basket? Well plainly DH does, in case he gets locked in....)

I love tidying/cleaning cupboards. It's always been a joke with my family that, if anyone walked through my front door they'd think the house had been ransacked, but my drawers and cupboards are the tidiest you'll find anywhere. My arguement being that there's no point being clean on the outside if you're not clean on the inside. Daft arguement cause visitors [not that I have many] don't see inside the cupboards but they do see the rubbish strewn across the living room .
