I've been approached by the lovely lady who brings me home communion monthly, to ask would I mind being filmed as part of a film to be shown at a parish dinner. This is to part of a film to show what the activities that take part in our parish are!
This means I'm going to have to tidy up the chaos around my chair, remove any pornographic artistic works, tidy up the scattered lacy undies etc and refrain from the both of us either dissolving into giggles or entering into critical analysis of the writer of the days gospel!
Can I cope with this?

Make sure you're wearing your best pearls – you're going to be a filmstar.

P.s. I like your clever choice of title for the thread.

Galen this is not the first time you have made me grin

However, I'm surprised that you haven't used the "O" word that seems so popular these days! wink

O word?

Well now, the tidying up will be a problem but you could just cover up the mess with a few tomes of Barth, Bonhoeffer and Newman to subtly indicate your breadth of learning and the high seriousness with which you approach the sacrament. As for the giggles, just think of the silly man who told you you were a bed blocker and that will wipe the smile right off your face.

Bit of a tangent galen, but you might be interested in reading The Great Partnership by Jonathan Sacks. I've got it on my kindle and it is kindling (ha!) some lively debates with the family.

What's it about?

What? You can't leave it there. I'll nip to forums and start it

is that all. No three week old chip wrappers, empty vodka bottles or sex toys?
Just put them in a pile woman and dunna maether yourself.

It's a discussion about whether one has to choose to believe either science or religion, the Richard Dawkins view, or whether they are two sides of the same coin and both equally necessary to a fulfilled life. That's a very simplistic description but I am finding the ideas fascinating, I can feel my mind stretching!

Thanks!

The empty vodka and cinzano bottles are on the drinks table along with the full ones, the gin, the martini, the Spanish brandy, the dry ginger, the vin santo and half a bottle of St Josef
