We had a new window fitted last Friday. By Monday the rain was pouring in round it ruining our beechwood window seat (like a wide windowsill).
OH rang company who said that the fitter (he of few words and exposed bum crack) was on holiday and they could not mend it till Wednesday week.
I get on the phone and say - no way, not good enough, you must have more than one fitter, and on this Wednesday a fitter (very chatty and concealed bum crack) arrived, proclaimed a diagnosis, tinkered a bit and went away.
Today we stroll back into the living room after lunch to find a torrent of water pouring down the window onto my DD's mobile phone. I call the company - send someone now, today, no delay.
An hour or so later a third (unremarkable) fitter arrived in large van, scratched his head and said it was a sealant problem, and that he has no sealant on the van! He said he would go back to the depot (please bear in mind that we live a fair distance from civilization and a 35 minute journey is required) and talk to them. We said "We'll see you later." Oh - he wasn't sure about that!
I have just phoned the company and said that when this chap returns we expect him to be despatched back to us pdq, clutching sealant and that we have no intention of spending the weekend in the wet.
We await developments!
