Oh dear, Oh dear, the poor , poor parents of this beloved daughter, still on the rack , will their pain ever end ?
Kercher will not go back to Italy voluntarily IMO, but I wonder how Obama is going to handle this ?
Rather interesting !

AK testimony

Thanks Nightowl

In a way I agree with you jingl, but if you look at the evidence it's impossible for that not to include the 'how' of what happened. That's why I had to give up last night, but I will read more because I'm interested to try to understand what really happened.

nellie I found the judgements on the following site:
www.perugiamurderfile.org/

But as Aka said, there are so many sites it's only fair to look at them all.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 04-Feb-14 09:30:52

hmm Should have said "where the how of the death NO LONGER matters".

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 04-Feb-14 09:29:23

I'm sorry if you can't follow that jess. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 04-Feb-14 09:28:55

Hasn't it got the point where the how of the death matters? Surely reading the details of this crime is only going to exacerbate feelings of revulsion, which would be very likely to cloud judgement as to the who?

And then some people would just seek an easy target for their feelings.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 04-Feb-14 09:24:19

I think that, following a very frightening experience, you would very likely seek closeness with another human being.

Brendawymms Tue 04-Feb-14 09:18:32

The drive for life, ie lovemaking, following a traumatic event is quite common. It's reaffirming that life is continuing.

Iam64 Tue 04-Feb-14 08:43:21

What's the evidence for that absent? I've often read that in war zones, passion can take over, something about the search for life. Faced with traumatic life events, or bereavements, 'passionate lovemaking, never mind snogging' has been the last thing on my mind.

Aka Tue 04-Feb-14 08:30:23

hmm

absent Tue 04-Feb-14 08:26:27

I think it is an established fact that passionate lovemaking, never mind snogging, is quite a common reaction to traumatic events.

Aka Tue 04-Feb-14 08:19:39

There's so many Nellie that it's only fair to look at them all. If you goole the name of the murdered girl then sift out the ones which are officially based from the speculations etc.

Nelliemoser Tue 04-Feb-14 07:41:57

Could someone send me a link to where they can find this information. I will trot off get a brew and my glasses so I can read the screen properly.

nightowl Tue 04-Feb-14 07:09:38

Like Aka I have started to read the evidence, including the judgements in the case which have been painstakingly translated into English. It seems that the Italian justice system has been unfairly criticised (ridiculed even). It may be different from ours (or that of the USA) but that doesn't mean it's not as good. There is so much information available it would take weeks to read through it all. I had to stop last night because the detail of how poor Meredith died was just too distressing.

Nelliemoser Mon 03-Feb-14 15:43:21

Her frequently contradictory statements, do her no favours at all. Neither did that picture of her and her boyfriend snogging the day after the murder. Cling together for comfort maybe.

Elegran Mon 03-Feb-14 15:20:48

"I was somewhere completely different at that time, and anyway I saw someone else do it", kind of defence!

nightowl Mon 03-Feb-14 15:08:59

Not a great defence if you then claim you were nowhere near the house that night. At least be consistent.

margaretm74 Mon 03-Feb-14 14:49:28

Not a great defence then, just a try-on

Aka Mon 03-Feb-14 14:43:24

They originally claimed to be high on cannabis and neither could recall anything that happened that night. Total amnesia is not a recognised side effect of cannabis smoking.

margaretm74 Mon 03-Feb-14 14:40:26

perhaps all so high on drugs none of the three accused/guilty can remember what they did or didn't do.

nightowl Mon 03-Feb-14 10:37:32

I find it as clear as mud as well Gagagran. I don't think rudy guede is a very reliable witness, nor do I think Amanda Knox is reliable. Both have changed their testimony several times and Amanda Knox named an innocent man as the murderer and was found guilty of slander. That doesn't necessarily mean she is guilty of course. I have my own feelings about her but that's not evidence.

margaretm74 Mon 03-Feb-14 10:02:13

Perhaps violent is the wrong term, perhaps cruel would be better, JessM.
And yes , violent as well.

Gagagran Mon 03-Feb-14 09:59:52

Thanks nightowl though I still find it as clear as mud! That poor girl was done to death in a horrific way yet it all seems to be about the other three involved.

Aka Mon 03-Feb-14 09:23:45

I've been reading about the evidence as I felt it was one of those situations where between the press and the lawyers you couldn't get a clear picture.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 03-Feb-14 09:15:05

I think America might use their very strict double jeopardy law to resist the extradition. Quite rightly imo.
