Good afternoon from a grey, wet and miserable north east. Have been watching the news about Dawlish, dreadful.

Shops will still be there on Friday, Lona. Tomorrow is NW meet-up. There's still time for you to join us.

In the last hour, the weather has deteriorated in Cheshire. It's p-ing down and the big trees are not so much tossing as thrashing. Plans for shopping outing have been shelved. I may not be able to avoid housework. sad

Wet and very windy in Brum

Morning all. Good luck with the tablets Mick. Have good trip Nfk and enjoy your knitting/nattering Printmiss.

We were woken at 6 by howling gales, pouring rain and angry seas here in Suffolk. The sun is now out although the wind is still as bad.

Enjoy your days everyone! sunshine

PRINTMISS Wed 05-Feb-14 09:05:20

Good morning all, after a very wet and windy night we have clear skies with brilliant sun - howling gales still! Saw a woodpecker on the tree at the back of the garden, hanging on for dear life - a couple of years ago they nested, but I think the lady ran off with someone else, and left the man to rear the chicks which we could hear - unfortunately, it all ended rather sadly. Oh dear! that is not at all cheerful sorry about that, just quite pleased to think we have a woodpecker back. I am off to knit and natter, but must get a move on. Enjoy your days, everyone, thoughts are with all those in horrible living conditions at the moment, no idea how you are all coping.

Good morning. A breezy night in Cheshire. I have just been looking at the television pictures of those poor people in Devon and Cornwall. The damage is just appalling.

Very windy and grey here in the Midlands too. Hope everyone is ok. Might (only might!) be an exciting day for us as we're hoping to exchange contracts on our house move today, though I'm not confident it will actually happen. Unfortunately solicitors still use post rather than email so things do seem to have dragged on a bit.

Dry and breezy . No news yet from our friends in Wales and the South West. The news is pretty awful this morning.

Lona Wed 05-Feb-14 08:18:03

Morning all! It's damp and windy today but I'm not too bothered as I'm at my exercise class this morning, and then off to see August-Osage County with my chum this afternoon.

Nfk Have a wonderful holiday sunshine

Good morning from a wet and horrible Dordogne- when we had days like this when we were children my mother would decide it was a 'cooking day' and we would go into the kitchen, light the oven and make all sorts of delights! Think I may go with that idea myself today! cupcake. brew

What a night in East Sussex, blowing a gale and raining. Today we have an Amber warning for wind. Dentists today for niggling tooth.

NfkDumpling Wed 05-Feb-14 07:28:23

Mornin' All. Dark clouds still horsin' over but it's not raining. Off shortly for the four hour drive to Heathrow - and India! Just hope the planes can take off ok and there's not too much delay. [excited]

Kiora Wed 05-Feb-14 07:23:39

Morning Mick. Hope the smartie does the trick without any side affects. It's yes you guessed it grey and damp here in kent. Batten down the hatches if we can believe the forecasters. Stay safe all you South Western granetters. Good luck and fingers crossed for you all

Granny23 Wed 05-Feb-14 07:14:23

Morning Mick,
Not a 'good' morning here - still dark, windy and raining.
Hope your new pills are helpful. If the are the same ones as DH has they DO look like smarties smile
