What kind of emoticons do they use on MN? I have never looked, but judging by the reported conversations and language, I would imagine a couple of smiley blow up friends, a dildo, a baby bottle, an ovulation calendar, two fingers, and an Ann Summers catalogue. On the whole, I think I prefer a cup of tea, a cup cake along with the odd glass of wine and a grin

What on earth are they trying to say? I am proud to be a Gransnetter cupcake and wine and a few flowers thrown in.

Sorry, that's a smiley if the ? was to me. Habit. I agree Soutra. Inane.

?

Dragonfly1 Sat 08-Feb-14 23:41:56

:-)

Soutra Sat 08-Feb-14 23:41:42

my curiosity aroused I have gone over to have a look and am underwhelmed by their depth of opinion or breadth of expression. Frankly, rude at times and is what they say really worth the space?

Galen Sat 08-Feb-14 23:37:14

To start with, they're mumsbumps! Ours!

Dragonfly1 Sat 08-Feb-14 23:32:53

No Galen, I think you should say bums. Maybe we should refer to them as Mumsbums instead of Mumsnet.

Aka Sat 08-Feb-14 23:31:35

That's a heavy dose of responsibility Galen.

Galen Sat 08-Feb-14 23:26:23

AKA being responsible for the life or death of a patient!

Galen Sat 08-Feb-14 23:25:13

I was going to say bums! But I thought that would be a tad outré for GN!

Galen Sat 08-Feb-14 23:24:13

More likely to give them bad backs, corns and cold legs!

Aka Sat 08-Feb-14 23:22:41

I knew I was grown up when I started collecting points on my Tesco card. Wonder what similar life events conferred maturity on others? hmm

Dragonfly1 Sat 08-Feb-14 23:21:53

But I like crazy, anno. And after an hour or lurking round MN it's a relief to come back to the harmless insanity of GN! They're all so boringly self righteous over there. Seem to think that wearing high heels and short skirts will stave off ageing. Silly beggars.

margaretm74 Sat 08-Feb-14 23:16:04

Still don't know what I want to do when I grow up, enjoy myself in the meantime

nightowl Sat 08-Feb-14 22:58:40

I was thinking 40 was middle aged Galen. Despite what the young mumsnetters like to think. I was quite preoccupied with my age then. I'm 61 now and embracing it - no longer give a stuff! grin

Aka Sat 08-Feb-14 22:51:20

Go get 'em dragonlady

annodomini Sat 08-Feb-14 22:49:53

Dragonfly, now you're asking! The first virtual party we held was Halloween 2011, on Pendle Hill. We all came on broomsticks and Biker insisted on bringing her two 'inflatable friends'. And if you think we were all completely crazy, you are dead right! I have been trying to find the original thread but that might put you right off!

Ana Sat 08-Feb-14 22:35:50

Yes, that's...logical! confused

Dragonfly1 Sat 08-Feb-14 22:32:03

Could somebody please tell me about Bikergran's inflatable friends??? Please?

shysal Sat 08-Feb-14 22:27:00

Well, actually, I think I asked for 'cake', and remember a slice being depicted originally. It was on behalf of those of us who don't drink wine or tea.

Ana Sat 08-Feb-14 22:20:26

Why on earth did you request a 'cupcake' emoticon, shysal? We aren't Americans...

Galen Sat 08-Feb-14 22:19:27

winewinewine

Ana Sat 08-Feb-14 22:19:07

Quite, FlicketyB! Although I couldn't care less about their disparaging remarks...

shysal Sat 08-Feb-14 22:16:49

I think I was the first to request a cupcake emoticon, bet they are jealous really!
I am a member of MN, but there is too much stuff on there to plough through. Attention span decreases as I get older. I know I am in the right place for me, and love it just the way it is. cupcake cupcake
