I have seen stranger things on The Tarka Trail. On the stretch from Torrington to Bideford we once saw a rather fat man [on a bike] wearing what appeared to be a dress!! We were walking, not cycling, so never got a second look, but we both agreed it was a man, and for his weight, was cycling very energetically. Not in lurex though.
Husbands never seem to go over the top with compliments do they? The best I can hope for is 'very nice' or 'yes, that's alright'. Alright? I hope I look alright when I do the shopping, but hope to look better than that when going out for a special occasion.

We were talking about hiring bikes and going along the Tarka Trail one Sunday, stopping for a pub lunch, etc, but Mr P said he didn't fancy wearing "those Lurex cycling shorts"

I had visions of Liberace on a bike................confused

We do need a second 'things they say' for all the things our dearly beloved says. Anyone out there with any tales. I have quite a few under my belt.

I has posted a picture of myself and another of DH on line. It was taken 32 years ago when I was a slip of a thing and (dare I say it) not too bad looking.
I said to my DH "I was quite pretty then" hoping for the 'right' answer, he replied " You are not un-pretty now" What on earth is un pretty and isn't that a double negative?
