to thine own self be true. Hamlet

seem to remember hearing it being said by Danny DeVito saying it in Renaissance Man. Remembered mostly for the scene with all the recruits standing in the rain, and one reciting the St Crispins Day scene from Henry V We Few, we happy few, we band of brothers....

Is that cheating? No, of course not, I remembered them all blush

Just wondering, though, if he coined the phrases or they were in general use at the time anyway.

Possibly my favourite one at the moment....

“If you prick us, do we not bleed? "...........usually as I stick a needle in an arm for blood or prick a finger for a sugar test....followed up with only an armful and sorry no tea and biscuits! Trying to lighten the moment works most of the time....

if you tickle us, do we not laugh? Usually when I am washing feet, yes as a Ward sister I do like washing feet, generally only ghetto to this at a weekend when I can 'act down' and be a proper nurse....

*if you poison us, do we not die?*With a 'that wouldn't do now would it' while On a drug round when a patient queries all,the additional tablets given, mostly painkillers....

*and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?". *- for those here in the know I am currently working on that one.

(Act III, scene I).” The Merchant of Venice

Flower completely get what you mean, as in phrases that are now in common usage that got their first airing from Will, but my brain isn't working well tonight, promise I will try to come up with some tomorrow!

PS. I do occasionally say "and there's the rub", that should count?
