Little darlings

GD1 entered a self portrait into the art and craft section of their village fete and won the competition. DS won the photographic section with a picture of noctilucent clouds. I have an artistic family

GS1 (aged 7) wasn't feeling well this morning and didn't really want to go to school - very unusual for him! He warned his teacher that he felt ill and therefore she might find he was a bit cantankerous! Fortunately she's used to his vocabulary. (He later recovered enough to get into trouble for wrestling in class!)

Talking of little darlings we are soon off to our annual Cornish surfing holiday with our two - the eldest will be 14 in September so we are wondering how many more years - if any - we will be making the annual trek. Sad really but on the other hand it frees up quite a bit of cash for another holiday for us!!!

Good grief! the most my daughter can get my GS's to do is their maths homework just before the due date and occasionally after!

Galen, did/does your DGD watch Little Einstein videos? I found that they taught my GC some very abstruse vocabulary about shapes.

Galen back to your original post, when I made sandwiches for my DGD and asked squares or triangles her reply was "I'd like them like daddy cut's them please" 20 minutes and umpteen questions later we discovered that he made little houses with windows and doors cut out

My grandson has one of those shape sorters. What does he do? He just pulls the lid off and puts them in through the top. Clever lad my DGS!

I think I would have given her a safely blunt knife and left her to get on with it!

When DS was six he spent the day with my mother. She was highly amused when he asked for a peice of paper and then proceeded to write a very long list of Roman numerals. She thought he was going to draw her a picture!!!

Being a know it all I should think. She hasn't changed.
I'm meeting them at Slimbridge wetlands trust tomorrow. I shall be chasing toddler round WellyBoot land while darling daughter splashes with tiddler.

No! She has a shape posting box and knows most of them. Sometimes confuses a a trapezoid and a rhombus though.
I would point out her mother scored 115% in a maths exam at university?
