Don't mind me asking, but why is your grandson being christened? This does not sound a very Christian thing to do to you and your partner. It sounds like your daughter would have other things on her mind.

I agree with J52 and think you have decided correctly. I don't think you can run the risk of a confrontation at the christening..... you'd always be remembered for it.

However, It will not be easy for you and if it was me I'd be in bits

Do you still get to see your grandson.

I hope that it all eventually resolves.

So sorry this has happened to you. It all sounds as if emotions are very raw.
A difficult call. Attending could end up in a very unpleasant confrontational situation.
Unless you are particularly religious, I would comply with their wishes. They may regret it later, but at least you would not have inflamed the situation and no ' blame' could be attributed to you. Best wishes for what you decide. X

Yes it is but not as you suggest. My daughter has said she does not trust leaving my grandson with me when my partner is home. He has been in the family for years and I have had my grandson staying with me prior to her father in laws arrest. But her partner, the son of the accused has deflected the situation towards me and now my daughter has turned against me having my grandson over and has said her partner does not want me to attend my grandsons baptism in two weeks time. Help what should I do. Go or stay home ...

Is the falling out with your daughter connected to the f.I.l' s offence? If so, how? Did you shop him to the cops?
