Why does it matter if a topic is important to some people and not to others? Isn't this why we have discussions—to air different views? Couldn't those who think it unimportant just say this topic is unimportant to them while recognising that it is important to others? There's absolutely no need to be snide and picky in a personal way while adding nothing of substance to the discussion.

Yet another way of saying that: I'll bloody well get my knickers in a twist about whatever I like! Besides, there's something very feminine about twisted knickers

PS the definition of feminine that I used includes all the pretty stuff which some people think is all there is to it.

Oh yes that's me delicate and pretty. I asked Dh how he would assess me against this criteria - he said 50% but failed to elaborate - don't know how to take that.

Until we are able to get completely into the minds of others we cannot know how they are feeling, we can only make educated guesses.
I feel I am me, others may judge me by my outward appearance. At the allotment..... masculine, shopping (to add to an already over-full wardrobe!)..... feminine. But, again, both 'looks' are outward only!!!!!!!!

Which is what some of us have been saying all along—before checking the dictionary. Mine is Chambers online, btw.

I'm just surprised at how seriously some people seem to be taking this subject!

I think I've reached the same point, flick. Some people just seem to want femininity to be about making an effort to look... well... female. Actually, I think they mean "attractive", but as ffinn so rightly says, men are just as likely to be attractive as women. I'm going to bugger off this thread now—in a feminine way, naturally.

The more I read the more I am in the dark about what being feminine means. I am female, I am visibly female, where does being feminine click in - and how will I recognise it if it does?

Of course it does help that they are actually very good-looking young women...

I saw this feed and thought how beautiful these women are. Men can be beautiful as well, and thought that it's not about looks, clothing or gender, it's about their countenance.
