New song....

It is regrettable that we always have to think before we post. It will inhibit posters, myself included,not many of us want to cause offence to anyone,obviously in the eyes of some we do.

Plenty of songs out there about murder. Not always of women, of course, but still murder.

It's a very popular karaoke song but like a lot of singalong stuff I don't suppose anybody pays any attention to the words.

I would think it's an excellent song for a singing group. Plenty to let rip on.

And the vengeful lover is about to get his come-uppance. And he does say, "forgive me Delilah".

I guess I have a point where I don't laugh.

It WAS a pop song. They don't play it these days because it's controversial.

it's a pop song. You are taking this too heavily. If you don't want to sing the song, put it to the group. They might choose another one. Or if not, stay at home and miss the enjoyment.

Bad choice. Especially with the number of high profile cases where woman have been murdered by their ex partners.

At least the song tells that he is about to be arrested, so he was going be punished. If you can manage to distract yourself from the unpleasant thoughts, it will be a great song to sing in a group!

I used to work for Women's Aid. I saw battered women and heard about some who got killed too.

Anyone remember the woman who was knifed outside Cowley Police Station a few years ago?

To me it's analogous to making jokes about rape.
