This thread is for you - and please do take a look around. We don't bite (but we do bake cupcake cupcake) x

Meant to add, since GD2 started school in August, I no longer have nursery runs sad, but more time to faff.

Welcome Mumsnetters, good to see you. I do a fair bit of lurking over there, I wish it had been around when my DCs were little (see, I've got the lingo smile ).

Hi chipping! Have a nice day!

TheHoneyBadger Sat 11-Oct-14 10:04:33

there don't seem to be many threads. i think on mn you get used to things being very fast moving.

FruVikOla Sat 11-Oct-14 10:04:38

fanjo, I thought I'd be able to cope for a few hours - and I'm going out just after 11 anyway. I managed to hold out until 8 am blush

LaurieFairyCake Sat 11-Oct-14 10:09:55

Well that sounds grand Agus, nothing like having the house to yourself.

I've also been browsing chin hairs - I've got one on the side of my face that's the thickest and blackest hair possible - I just pluck it out every month but you can tell that in my dotage when I forget about it, other folk will point and state at its lush curliness

TrillianAstra Sat 11-Oct-14 10:16:58

I have the house to myself this morning too, lovely!

enormouse Sat 11-Oct-14 10:41:30

Hi everyone. A little bereft without mumsnet so can I park myself in the corner?

Lookslikeimstuckhere Sat 11-Oct-14 10:45:43

I'm taking my toddler and DH shopping. If I get back home and MN is still not up, can I come here for a paracetamol and a large drink? I fear I may need it...

Lookslikeimstuckhere Sat 11-Oct-14 10:48:31

Also, in case they take it away because I've not fed back enough - Chipping the sat nav wouldn't find the sat. Fiddlesticks. <curses under breath as requested>

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 10:53:23

Lookslike <I haven't made it out of the house yet - oops>

Yes - it's partly why I'm going out, to take TomTom off the well beaten track! I have to be back for 2 though, so need to shift myself.

What wouldn't it find for you?

Mine couldn't find a well know garden centre, that's been here for years, yesterday... very surprised and disappointed. I'm glad I wasn't relying on it to get me there!

The sun has gone in again, I'm much less inspired to go out.

enormouse Sat 11-Oct-14 10:53:27

Looks can I join you in that drink?

Dp has gone out for a lecture leaving me alone with the DSes. DS1 is annoyed at me because I didn't let him eat porridge in a colander. DS2 is annoyed because he wanted to eat DS1s porridge. And I've read the highway rat 3 times.

I need a large scotch.

Lookslikeimstuckhere Sat 11-Oct-14 11:01:58

Chipping it wouldn't find the satellite at all! Had to turn it off and on before it would direct me anywhere. Maybe it's telling Brent Cross is a baaaad place to be on a Saturday with a toddler and DH.

enormouse please do, I'll pick up some nibbles. Save my seat smile

BlackeyedSusan Sat 11-Oct-14 11:06:39

<flops down in a corner next to enormouse.>

Bit quiet around here. Seems most other people have a life to get on with.

Looks shouldn't you be taking those before you go?

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 11:06:58

Enormous brew << Just don't tell anyone it's not tea!!

lookslike - it's not wrong, Brent Cross, on a Saturday, with DH and a toddler???????? Are you MAD?? Not for all the rum in Jamaica!

It was trying to save you!!

Mine is a bit funny sometimes, unresponsive & has to be turned off and back on. Grrr. Maybe it doesn't deserve a treat today after all and it might just have to make do with another boring run up to the little one's piano concert this afternoon like me.

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 11:09:34

Blackeyed I think it's valium she needs before she goes grin

It would have to be a 'Life & Death' situation before you got me to Brent Cross on a Saturday - and that's on my own... I can't imagine what it would take to get me there with DH & DS as well <shudder>

I think a lot of the others are just rocking in the corner, at home, alone... counting down the hours!!

TrillianAstra Sat 11-Oct-14 11:09:45

Not for all the rum in Jamaica!

I have't heard that one before but I like it!

ChippingIn Sat 11-Oct-14 11:10:51

Well, the 'original' seems a bit 'not quite PC' these days - one has to improvise grin

What time is the cake out of the oven?

CeilingCat Sat 11-Oct-14 11:13:28

Hello! I'm another refugee, but have found that I am registered on Gransnet already! If I'd known you lot had wine I'd have spent more time here....

fanjo Sat 11-Oct-14 11:14:33

It is actually a beautiful sunny day here for a change. Chilly though. Taking DD a tour of the playparks and beaches in the area.

Lookslikeimstuckhere Sat 11-Oct-14 11:15:15

Chipping it just got totally lost and messed up lane instructions. It knows...

I did suggest to DH that perhaps he should stay home but he said 'it would be fun' hmm

DejaVualloveragain Sat 11-Oct-14 11:15:36

Did someone mention cake? grin

whenim64 Sat 11-Oct-14 11:21:32

Two dozen scones here, but watch out they're hot. Strawberry jam and butter, if you want them. Just got all the baking things out for 3 year old grandaughter to make cakes this afternoon - if there are any edible ones I'll bring........no, scrap that - they'll get eaten, regardless! grin

kittylester Sat 11-Oct-14 11:25:14

This is getting more and more like Soop's all the time! grin

Theselittlelightsofmine Sat 11-Oct-14 11:33:34
