Thanks for the warmth and hugs soop. Time for an afternoon break, feet up, cup of coffee and a plate of stollen and some sticky spicy buns. Please eat them all before I do!

Just popped in for a minute to see who's in the kitchen and what goodies are left for me to nibble. Not had time for lunch today as too busy preparing for tomorrow. This is my first Christmas on GN and I am so glad the kitchen is where I started posting. Always a place for a warm welcome and support for all who need it.

Now let me have some of those sticky buns before whenim eats them all

Merry Christmas Granspals. We have got off to a great start. Boiler is on the blink, today of all days!!! No heating or hot water. We have an open fire in the lounge and some heaters going in other rooms. Let the day begin

Merry Christmas, everyone. On top of it all so far.

I want to the cupboard for a jar of cranberry sauce that I thought was unused from last year - its use-by date is 2012. Probably wouldn't kill anyone but a trial spoonful was just about tasteless, so I am making real cranberry sauce after all. Just as well I had emergency cranberries in the freezer.

If that is the worst hitch all will go well.

My stairlift decided to have a holiday early yesterday afternoon. Naturally it was just outside its 5 year warranty and nobody had reminded me. It was double cost for the call out and he came within 2 hours. Luckily only a fuse had died so that at least cost me nothing.

I needed to wash clothes tioday but was reluctant to switch on the machine in case of flooding which would be my luck. So far so good but the day is not yet over.

Agus that is horrendous, even if you find somebody to visit between now and New Year, like me you will end up forking out double for a call out.

DD and the girls will be here soon so the warmth of family will get us through Lona.........Oh, get me a sick bucket quick.

ps the dishwasher is still functioning.

Elegran, my daughter would do her nut! She refused butter that was 2 days after its sell by date
