A lady who used to sing in my singing group has just appeared unexpectedly on the doorstep with a bunch of flowers for me. I have not seen her for ages, but she had heard that I had been ill and depressed and she just decided to buy me some flowers. It is impossible to say what such little acts of kindness mean at times like this. I was totally bowled over and it has lifted my spirits.
