She as,ed me last night what would I have called her if she'd been a girl , apart from Nefretiri that is. I said the name I gave her younger sister, otherwise something Anglo Saxon. Not keen on Lucy, a wishy washy sort of name I think. Ethelfleda would be much better.

Galen for you and Lucy from hereon in. Not easy by any means for either of you and hope the future brings added happiness to you both.

I hope you soon get used to the name, as I had to do, and become more comfortable with your second daughter. Perhaps now she can be open about her feelings, and sees that you support her, you may see more of her and feel closer?

Lucy will find it difficult, as you will, but with a formidable, forthright and loving mother in the background, all will be well. What does your other daughter think of this? How did the dentist go soop? They are a much maligned group

Back from the dentist's chair. X-ray showed no decay. Filling remains in situ. Dentist believes the pain is due to receding gums. I did wonder. Have had some sticky stuff painted over the upper back tooth. I'm to expect a call in a couple of days when the pain will hopefully have stopped. I'm still drinking tea through a straw. Cannot bear having hot or cold food or drink touching the offending gum/tooth. It's a huge relief to have had the bothersome thing sorted.

Soutra Perhaps the patch thingy that helped you with your toothache is the same sort of patch thingy that I've had.
As for being concerned for whatever it appears that you've inadvertently gone and done with a pm...my advice is, stay here awhile, we know that you would not deliberately hurt another's feelings.

Lucy is over the other side of the country so we don't meet. Her sister doesn't seem bothered apart from saying that she (Lucy) was always a drama queen.

When I was at school I had a friend called Venetia. It's a beautiful name.

she was more of a tomboy than her sibling! I still never see her in a skirt, only trousers. Wouldn't be surprised to find her climbing a tree. She built a house including the roofing.

Well, we are all a mix of male/female characteristics. It seems that Mother Nature doesn't always stick to tried and true recipe. A unique individual is an interesting individual. Can anyone think of suitable sanction punishment for a man who has now twice been to the shops and failed to appear with the Marmite, then compounds this misdemeanor by finishing up the last dregs in the jar and PUTTING THE COMPLETELY EMPTY jar back in the cupboard.

Warrants the same punishment as the husband who leaves a single olive in a large jar presumably so he won't be blamed for eating them all before I needed them for a half-made supper tonight......

For the next few days only provide food which you really enjoy and suspect they are not so keen on.
