Is it just me?

I now assume that my posts will be mostly ignored. It used to upset me but I've got used to it. I still enjoy reading other's post and now have no expectation of being admitted to the inner circle. It's an age thing, I think. I'm just too old to be interesting.
I shall still stick with Gransnet as most of it is lovely.

And sometimes by the time you've posted, more have appeared which make yours seem at best out of step, and at worst irrelevant!

It always looks to me as though there are a set of regular people who chat to each other and I assume that for the most part they won't bother to read what I post because my name is newer or they don't like what they have seen of what I've posted in the past. I've had some nice messages through my inbox though and I do appreciate those people for taking the time to make contact.

The other thing is that there are so many interesting discussions to read that the downside is one may not have time to read more than one or two of them. So people may not respond because they haven't seen what you've posted.

I am just going to kill this thread now, as usual! It's ME that does it!

I used to get fed up when people clearly didn't read the previous posts, but now, guess what, I don't give a monkeys!



I do read nearly all the posts, honest.

I never think about people reading my posts except for whoever I see is online at the moment of posting. Some are ignored and some are responded to - and as that's what I do I can hardly complain if others do likewise. For instance I only read the Erectile Dysfunction thread last night for the first time because I was curious as to why it was still going - and then spent the next ten or twenty minutes laughing myself silly and reading various posts (thanks Pompa) out loud to my husband. I didn't have time to post a comment on the thread last night or I would have. I do like to read ALL the posts on a thread though, so sometimes I spend rather longer on GN than I plan to.

On some forums they show the number of 'likes' a member's received on their profile page. I'm pretty sure it does lead to competition among some people!

If there was "a like button", would there have to be "a don't like button".
That could be interesting

I am not on other forums so dont know how it works elsewhere in practice.
