Maternal pride!!!

Sorry to blow my DD's trumpet, but I have just received a recording of her singing the solo Pie Jesu from Rutter's Requiem from a concert a few weeks ago - I was not well enough to travel to it and was so very upset about this. But, listening to it, it is probably just as well as I would have sat there and blubbed. It is so so beautiful - I am a singing buff and involved with lots of singing and live vocal events and this is really a perfectly splendid piece of singing - I feel so very proud of her. I cannot believe she is ours!

Thats lovely Mishap, don't we all want to shout from the rooftops when one of 'ours' does something fabulous...

This week my dyslexic 9yr old granddaughter got a 'Head Teachers Gold Award' for her Christmas Adventure story, she was so proud she could hardly get her head through the door when she came to show me.

smile It never stops, does, that 'proud moment'. I thought I would grow out of it! grin

It's wonderful, that moment of pure pride when you realise you have created someone special. Someone who can give pleasure to others.

tanith my grandson got his first headteacher's award today too, he phoned his grandfather at work to tell him and left a message on my answerphone too - he was sooo pleased. He'll be five tomorrow. smile

Isn't is wonderful? That feeling of pride so big you could burst. Well done her and well done you!

(I don't think pride is a sin, I think it was a mistranslation - it should have been conceit.)

Mishap, boast as much as you like. I have a recording of DD singing in Brahms Requiem and it brings a tear to my eye every time I listen to it.
