We need to start a campaign - where is *Marmight's Prize? and lobby GNHQ!
Anyone from GNHQ listening?

Judy was on Loose Women a few times and is as sharp as a tack. The press are very cruel to her, perhaps because she's married to a younger man. They publish the most horrible photos they can get hold of. If i was her, I'd go out in disguise.

I often have the look of Judy Finnigan! I like her - she chose my poem as the winner back in 2013 and read it beautifully at GNHQ. I still have the recording (although I never received the prize wink). I think we all have days when we look as if we have been swept through a hedge backwards! It must be galling to have such a young looking, handsome husband; my late DH was 7 years older than me and many people thought I was older than him hmm

Nina when I said I thought JF had 'the look' I meant that some people who have the disease seem to have a sad vacant expression.

Having said that a lovely lady who lives in our town has Alzheimer's and she takes her dog out for a walk daily. We have met her twice recently and we always say hello, both times she has told us she has the start of Alzheimer's and is uncertain where her home is. Each time we have taken her and her wayward dog back home to her husband. She contrary to everything I have said is bright and smiley.

Judy could be on here for all we know, she is a granny now after all. She is a remarkable woman and I cherish the time that her and Richard kept me company for the mornings, so much better than who they have now. Phillip seems to think he is the king of TV. Plus, when one of them were off sick, usually Judy, then Richard would carry the show all by himself, no getting anyone else in, as I recall. And she laughed at herself at the boob mistake at the awards, who else would do that? Top bird. smile

Oh, go on, rubysong! Be a devil.

rubysong Sat 17-Jan-15 23:38:54

No thanks

NotTooOld Sat 17-Jan-15 23:30:04

Rosequartz - yes I meant TB. He's aged but he still looks rather good, I think. Most of us women have softer bodies, including faces, than men and I think that's why we 'sag' after a certain age. Sad, but there you go. Good health is more important than good looks any day of the week. Mind you, both together would be excellent.....! And, of course, some men have soft faces, too. Paul MacCartney anyone?

Kiora Sat 17-Jan-15 23:13:32

I too think they use the worst photographs they can find of Judy. It must really knock your confidence to see them plastered all over the place. I admire her for not having anything done. I preferred her interviewing style more than Richards. I doubt there's anything wrong I look sort of 'judyish' in photographs and there's nothing wrong with me (not yet anyway) My husband on the other hand takes a fantastic photograph. A while back I took some of my childrens wedding photographs into work. One of my colleagues said " is that your husband..well I am surprised he's rather good looking" angry I won't post my reply to her. He's going to seed a bit now. He's getting no sympathy from me grin

ninathenana Sat 17-Jan-15 23:04:15

I'm wondering if she has Alzheimers as she has that look about her ???

There isn't "a look" as far as I'm aware confused

rosequartz Sat 17-Jan-15 22:41:33

NotTooOld do you mean TB? If so, I can't agree that he looks good . He has that 'stretched' look and a strained grin that never reaches his eyes.

JF may have a face that looks 'lived in' but so preferable to the ghastly lifted looks of Ann Robinson.

Anyone caught off-guard may look terrible, even lovely Twiggy.

Me? I look terrible even when I am on-guard for a photo grin

NotTooOld Sat 17-Jan-15 21:58:13

Yes, and he is very photogenic, isn't he? Sickening. I'm hopelessly unphotogenic, too. At least I think I am but on the other hand they do say the camera never lies, don't they?!!!

absentgrandma Sat 17-Jan-15 21:54:45

The media are always picking on Judy. It makes me really angry. We don't all look like Kim Kardashian, with her humongous bum and ego to match. As someone's already said, Judy is not photogenic, neither is Princess Anne or Cherie Blair ... or me (but the paps. aren't interested in a 70 year-old nobody nipping out to the shops in her baggy pants and trainers). I don't hold a torch for Ms. Blair but I reckon the media have a library of ghastly pictures of her that they trot out whenever they have cause to write about her old man.

NotTooOld Sat 17-Jan-15 21:49:20

I think they both write books. I write books but don't get published. Perhaps if my name was JF or RM I would, though? Not that I'm jealous or anything.

soontobe Sat 17-Jan-15 21:30:09

Fancy dress, a joke, couldnt care less attitude?
Hope it is one of them and not what NanKate thinks it might be.

Is she still writing books?

NotTooOld Sat 17-Jan-15 21:21:14

Poor woman, they do pick the very worst shots of her to put in the media. She must feel a bit fed up that Richard, on the other hand, still looks good!

Juliette Sat 17-Jan-15 20:48:15

I look a bit like Judy on a good day. The years have not been kind to either of us. I haven't been to the pub in my PJs though , my onesie once or twice but definitely no PJs. At least she isn't 'rocking' the Anne Robinson look. Unmoveable face' which is infinitely worse. confused

granjura Sat 17-Jan-15 20:31:33

She was pictured at the pub in her PJs recently- something is definitely not right.

glassortwo Sat 17-Jan-15 20:25:29

ana they always search out the most haggard shot they can find.

Ana Sat 17-Jan-15 20:09:42

Yes, I loved her on This Morning. I think these days she isn't particularly photogenic, and of course the press love a good 'haggard' photoshot, especially of a well-known tv personality!

Tegan Sat 17-Jan-15 20:07:04

She was on Loose Women a few weeks ago and seemed fine. I think she's always suffered with her nerves. Have a great fondness for Judy; when she was interviewing people on This Morning she always seemed to ask the question that I was wanting to ask.

NanKate Sat 17-Jan-15 19:59:40

I saw a photo of Judy Finnigan in a magazine today and she looked really ill. I am wondering if she has Alzheimer's as she has that look about her. I hope I am wrong.
