I saw a photo of Judy Finnigan in a magazine today and she looked really ill. I am wondering if she has Alzheimer's as she has that look about her. I hope I am wrong.

"... there's a warmth about Judy F." - exactly. She's one of the few people who hasn't been changed by being a "celebrity."

Coolgran65 Thu 19-Mar-15 16:30:46

I always feel there is a warmth about Judy F.
She is normal, human, gets it wrong sometimes....
And is all the more likeable for that.
I have often unintentionally made an eejit of myself.....
Rejoice in every wrinkle, crease, and wobbly bit.
Only a robot is perfect.

Judy rocks !!!

Very true indeed - at one time one of my DDs was desperately unhappy at school and we were all despondent together - it was a very difficult time.

gillybob Thu 19-Mar-15 15:57:31

Such a true statement indeed granjura.

Sorry to hear your DD is suffering. I know only too well, how you must be feeling. sad

I do hope something changes for the better soon. smile

Our DD2 is going through the mill at the moment, in all sorts of ways- and I often think of what Judy Finnigan said in an interview last year 'as a mother, you can only be as happy as your unhappiest child' - and it is so so true.

She was on Loose Women a week or so ago and seemed ok. I think the magazines find the worst pictures of these celebrities and put misleading captions on the front covers to sell them.

Soutra Wed 21-Jan-15 20:25:43

Eminently missable methinks!

soontobe Wed 21-Jan-15 19:06:50

I dont think the confessions books are going to be every gransnetters' cup of tea!
Personally I borrowed it free from the library in case anyone is interested! grin
There are a whole set of confessions books if anyone is interested!

Elegran Wed 21-Jan-15 19:02:10

On the first page of that book, (Confessions . . .etc . . . BTW don't bother buying it, even for only 99p) the author says "Who you spend your time looking up determines who we [showbiz reporters] spend our time focussing on. If you resent that eminent scientists and liberal thinkers are missing from the list, start searching for a few and we will have to take notice"

So if we have all rushed off to search for Chloe, then we will have helped her career on a bit. Somehow I don't think that was what Judy was planning when she was photographed going about her off-duty life looking like a normal sixty-six year-old, though.

Ana Wed 21-Jan-15 18:49:27

Exactly - and I think that's wearing a bit thin now!

Elegran Wed 21-Jan-15 18:48:31

Yes. I wasn't sure her name was still Madeley, so I included Richard and Judy.

I would imagine just being related to them did more for her career than anything they were papped doing.

Ana Wed 21-Jan-15 18:45:39

Or just google Chloe Madeley.

Elegran Wed 21-Jan-15 18:30:31

Try googling "Richard and Judy" (with inverted commas) and Chloe. There are quite a lot of mentions of her, and her career. She has presented a few things on TV, but at the moment she seems to be a fitness expert. www.ok.co.uk/celebrity-news/chloe-madeley-half-naked-toned-body-pictures

soontobe Wed 21-Jan-15 18:23:16

That is the point really. Chloe doesnt have much a career. Hence all the selfies.
And her parents are bound to want to help her.

soontobe Wed 21-Jan-15 18:22:12

Yep. Why not?

Ana Wed 21-Jan-15 18:19:50

So, a newspaper prints an unflattering photo of Judy and that somehow boosts Chloe's career... (which is what, exactly, anyway?).

soontobe Wed 21-Jan-15 18:16:38

The old "any publicity is good publicity".

Elegran Wed 21-Jan-15 18:13:54

How would that work, then, soontobe ? How would it help their daughter's career for them to be papped?

soontobe Wed 21-Jan-15 18:10:33

Yes that was a serious suggestion. I am not sure why you might question otherwise.

Riverwalk Wed 21-Jan-15 18:03:04

If the question was addressed to me - I have no idea what you don't know. confused

I gave no indication that I know something that others don't know about Judy Finnigan.

I merely questioned whether you were serious in your wonderings.

soontobe Wed 21-Jan-15 17:54:48

Have you read the book, confessions of a showbusiness reporter?

soontobe Wed 21-Jan-15 17:46:46

Do you know something that I dont?

Riverwalk Wed 21-Jan-15 17:44:17

Is that a serious suggestion soon?

soontobe Wed 21-Jan-15 17:41:12

I wonder if Judy and her husband want to be papped to try and help out their daughter's career?
Chloe sure does a lot of selfies.

Falconbird Wed 21-Jan-15 17:38:26

My friend and I were in fits of laughter at the bus stop comparing our ghastly bus pass photos.

Some people aren't photogenic. Someone I know saw Cheri Blair in London and she was really lovely looking and very petite.

I think Joanna Lumley is great and has the right sort of look for the older woman.
