phoenix your a star !!!! Why couldn't I find that thank you.

Jings thank you too.

or this?

A container lorry with opening back has always been a favourite round here as they can stow small toys in the back. (And, in DS's case, wet pants when he had an accident. Found them weeks later)

I put "tonka toys" into google and Amazon was just one of the listings that came up. I'll have another go now that I know what you are looking for! smile

ninathenana Wed 18-Feb-15 17:46:17

Tanith he has a ride on.
phoenix I found several Eddie trucks and collectors items on Amazon but nothing robust enough to play with. Thanks for looking though smile
Tonka are great, but I suppose what I really hoped to find was a tonka type articulate lorry as that is a "daddy truck'

Thanks for replies.

I've just had a quick look on Amazon and there seems to be quite a good range, nina , surprised you couldn't find what you were looking for?

Anne58 Wed 18-Feb-15 16:27:51

My DS1 had a Tonka car transporter that came with 2 cars, it was a good size and very solidly built!

Tonka trucks are pretty much indestructible - though I wouldn't issue a challenge! And they are realistic. My DS2 had a Tonka crane forty years ago. Sadly, I didn't keep it, but I'm sure that somewhere it could well be still going strong. We had a lovely tipper truck too. One of my GSs was given a very realistic fire engine when his little brother was born.

What about a ride on car/truck at 3 he'll love pushing himself around on it. Or something in the 'Transformer' type of thing .

ninathenana Wed 18-Feb-15 15:50:39

His older brother has a collection of Eddie Stobart vehicles so don't really want the same.

ninathenana Wed 18-Feb-15 15:48:55

He will be 3 next month and loves trucks/lorries. I have scoured the net (amazon,e-bay, ToysrUs, Smyths) for something suitable for his age. A lot of what comes up is either not realistic i.e. wooden and babyish or is a collectors item. I'm hoping for something about 250-300mm long.
Anyone bought similar, if so where ?
Thanks.
