Alygran. I think that your 19 = 21?
I think you mean 4! - 4 - 4/4

21 = (4! - 4) + 4/4

OK, thanks! Read all earlier posts but seemed conflicting... hence my hesitation with my formula for '13'!

19=4!-4+(4/4)
20=4x4+sqrt(4x4)

18 = 4! - 4 -sqrt4

4 squared is not acceptable as it would be written with a superscript 2 - see earlier posts

13 = (44/4) + sqrt4

Try again
17= (4x4) + (4/4)

16 = (4/.4) + (4 + sqrt4)

15 = 4x4 - 4/4

14 = 4/.4 + sqrt 4 + sqrt 4

Sorry, still don't fully understand the rules about 'squaring', 'powers' etc ! I think this will probably not be allowed but hey ho worth a try!

13 = (4squared - 4) + 4/4

I was better at languages and English at school rather than physics, chemistry and maths- which was 100 years ago.

apricot I was just about to post "I don't do numbers" when I saw you had beaten me too it.

I'll stick with words, if that's ok. I like words, they (usually) don't make your brain hurt.

I don't do numbers. Maths to me is just gibberish, the way letters are to dyslexics. This seemed very important when I was 16 but never has since.
