That was part of the problem- I usually do that too.
I had put my car keys in my pocket after dumping my work bag in the car and come back into the house to get my coat.
Not a lot of hope really!

(1001 Posts) Here we are again. Happy as can be. All good friends and jolly good company. Hoorah!

Mishap that young man looks gorgeous and I ma sure never cries or wakens anybody 2 hourly during the night.
His sister may not be quite so impressed with his personal equipment if he washes her face inadvertently.
loopylou I try to remember to put car and door keys in the same place so that my birdbrain does not spend forever wondering where I have left either or both. That is the only routine that I make a vague attempt to follow.
I'm hoping that I manage to shrink mine, and get some energy back.
My own thoughts on seeing that tummy - I was thinking, if I had a stomach as hairy, being female, I would feel compelled to shave it! How unfair!
janer That made me chuckle.
You too, Bogoff
I'm about to mount the exercise bike. 20 mins of pedalling and then I shall feed the pussy cats.
Need to take the car to the garage tomorrow. Will call in early afternoon and catch up with all the latest news.
(((hugs))) and
As my physique expanded my energy diminished
I would love a new baby to play with - for maybe fifteen minutes...
Rain has stopped play in the garden. I suppose I could google pea recipes.
As for planting something prickly - she was smack bang between an Aloha climber and a fairy rose, they don't come much pricklier than that blasted fairy, which was why I was almost stood on her head for half an hour trying to tie the thing into the wall!
Talking about Adonis physiques - we have a very young wunderkind conductor for our choir. Only 25, but conducts orchestras all over the world, plays in his own baroque orchestra, teaches at a good private school one day a week and somehow finds the energy to lead us as well. He never stops moving, and believes in making us do all sorts of dreadful keep fit exercises as part of our warm-up. Last night he was stretching up the ceiling and jumping and his tummy was on full display. He was saying to some of the older sopranos 'Come on ladies! Pay attention, watch and do what I am doing and stop admiring my Adonis-like physique!' To which one of the older ones replied, 'Nothing further from our minds, young man, all we covet is your energy!'.
number I'm so sorry to have forgotten that your husband is now back at home and recovering well. I must have missed an update. I was thinking that he remained ensconced in the hospital.
@ Mishap
loopylou I had no idea that baby powder banned. I used it regularly on my three babes. However, not on the wee man's bottom. I didn't think to comment at the time.
That utterly unique baby smell........ Quite
really!
Mishap thank you for a delightful peek. First cuddles of a new-born babe are priceless. I love the way the wee bottom fits into the palm of the hand...sleepy head resting on the shoulder...just lovely.
Bogoff

How delightful Mishap!
DD was same with DS, nappy changes elicited numerous questions and bath times could have ended in him enveloped in clouds of baby powder (which nowadays is banned!)
Galen - would a rug do the trick?
soop - love the joke.
Had first wee cuddle with babe today - he is of course entirely perfect. His Mum is sore and tired but her milk has come in and hopefully little man will start getting it down him efficiently in the next couple of days. Big sister (2 years) just wants to dress and undress him - partly to admire his personal equipment with which she is most impressed!
Loved the joke Soop. And your latest paintings, lovely.
JaneR, don`t worry, mother ducks are very savvy, regarding safety for their babies. We once had to stop on the M5 for ages, waiting for a mother duck and several ducklings to cross the carriageway. Thankfully, all the other drivers were like minded.
Unfortunately my love of
has had a detrimental effect on my perfect Adonis physique.
Err - I did object to the joke, or don't my opinions count ? (don't answer that)
Bogoff Do tell us lot whether you have a figure to match your love of
...I would so love a slice of something wickedly gooey but dare not. Our granddaughter's wedding creeps ever nearer. The outfit demands that I remain as trim as I can be. Photo of outfit will follow once the hem has been altered.
POGS Mr POGS sounds lovely. The sort of remark my MacS would utter.
janer I'm relieved that no one has objected to the joke. After sharing it, I thought...
maybe this will be viewed with some distaste. I'm a sensitive soul...
loopylou I am forever misplacing my specs. The number of times in a day I've been known to yell ask MacS have you seen my specs, is embarrassing to say the least. I do have a chain. However, the chain manages to catch on drawer handles and I have from time to time come close to strangulation.
soop! Love the joke, couldn't find car keys this morning.
I spent 20 minutes rummaging around in handbag, work bag, coat pockets, got DH to tip out rubbish bin (why the hell would they be in there?), got very hot and bothered......then realised they were in my trousers pocket
Ho hum......
janer the duck and her family hopped it quickly!, I guess that's necessary for survival.
I'd plant something very prickly before she returns - they don't have two broods a year do they? If they do you might have to move fast
Have you got a Pea Recipes book?!
POGS DH un helpfully pulled out what he wrongly supposed was bindweed.....and all my nurtured Morning Glory disappeared. He got all huffy and said he wouldn't do any more gardening - I swear it was a deliberate ploy!
Oh dear galen how thoroughly exasperating! I sympathise re:moving solid oak furniture. We have an oak dresser and just taking the upper tier off takes 3 strong men! The bottom bit is virtually immovable.
Thanks, soop. Hopefully they are all bobbing away downriver to the lakes for a wonderful summer.
Love the joke.
It almost exactly mirrors a conversation held by my local WI about where to have the xmas dinner. The younger ones mentioned the gorgeous young French male waiters, my generation mentioned the delicious food, good prices and good service, the next lot up were all asking where the nearest parking spaces were and the oldest, was it wheelchair friendly (she doesn't even use one!), how rich was the food and are the loos upstairs? (Yes, but she came anyway)
Afternoon soop.
Went to look around the garden after the atrocious weather and thought, funny where are my strawberry plants.?
Mr. P had pulled them out thinking they were weeds.
. Then of course it was all my fault for not telling him , naturally !
Didn't like to tell him I was getting fed up with the yield and giving them one last year to do something miraculous or I was going to get rid of them anyway, especially as he said he would buy some plants for me after we have voted, he will know he's been duped when I but geraniums not strawberry plants though. He'll just smile and say 'you've got me again haven't ya'. Yep.
Hi Mr soop.
CBA I have a £500 excess anyway.
Certainly worth talking to them about.
Tea & cake time again before I get back to decorating.
Good point, Elegran sounds very sensible.
Can you claim and spend the money on getting the curtains shortened and buying a rug to cover the stain on the carpet? Would the insurance company go along with that? Would they even know what you spent the money on?
Re carpet not recap
Can't be bothered with all the hassle. Trying to recapped this ground floor is a major upheaval. It involves emptying two sideboards, moving them, they're solid oak and walnut. A 8ft oak dining table, a bookcase and my beloved grandfather clock. The clock has to be professionally dismantled, reassembled and recalibrated.
You won't see the carpet. It's the curtains that are the nuisance.
Suppose I'll just have to get them shortened.
