It seems that many of us fret over our GC's problems. Our DD will skype, crying etc over a problem. 24 hours later when we contact her to see how she is, having worried all nigh, she says OK, all sorted, WHY doesn't she tell us it's sorted. GRRRRR.
Our son has learn't to tell us stuff after the event, when it is sorted. As he did earlier this week when he phone to say that he had bought a new house, one that was under 6ft of water 16 months ago -- WHAT!!!!!, but it's too late for us to worry.

Janerowena your description of how our DCs offload their worries is exactly my experience. With an over-active imagination I too lie awake fretting over their "problems" only to find it was either temporary/not all that bad/ solved in the meantime. DD 1 starts a new career today having (re) qualified as a Secondary Maths teacher last year. She has been lucky to find a good school who were prepared to offer her part time (3 children under 5) and she will have help with the 2 who are not yet school age (3 1/2 and 8 months) on her working days, but while I admire her determination, I still "worry" that she is biting off too much!

I know exactly what you mean Galen. DH is the same in that when there is nothing to worry about, that worries him! I'm sure it must be exhausting for anyone who lives with this mindset. I really do wish he could relax more for his own sake.

I find that my Much Beloved DCs offload and I worry about them constantly, lose sleep, weight and marbles, find a solution, contact them and the problem is no longer of such importance... at which point I want to kill Less Beloved DCs.

LL, exactly the same for me, I put my anxiety down to the depression that afflicts me, one can easily lead to the other.

My problem is that when DD has a blip she bounces back much quicker than me, I am definitely a worrier, usually over trivia, and I mull over things again probably too much.

DD and I are too similar, we worry about things that might happen.

That's good then pompa! It's often the way that things turn out better than expected and we wonder why we worried!

Daughter is on Skype atm, she is much better. I think she has got stressed about sending her son to nursery when she returns to work next week.
He went all day today and was fine. Older son was picked up from school by the after school club and loved it. I suspect DD was expecting the worst.

numberplease I have also fitted CCTV front and back, 2 cameras at each. I have not advertised the fact and I am sure that the electrician who fitted them would have advised me because he has multiple cameras around his house.

I feel that if I advertised the fact, the local delinquent would try to remove the one which is looking down at my front door. He could not reach it but a stick in the hand could do untold damage.

I have been enjoying 22C here and maybe 25C tomorrow. Cannot wait. The fly in the ointment will be taking a howling Tara to the vet but only for nail clipping and worming and flea products. If you do hear her, she is not being murdered.

Right cake and bucks fizz for me please. I wish I could say that is is calorie free for everything I eat , I might get to a reasonable size, although I am convinced that fresh air make me put weight on.

Enjoying the (virtual) bucks fizz. It is still morning here. I have been dancing with 2yo DGD to the Tim Hart nursery rhymes CD and eating lots of pretend cookies.

Bucks Fizz is an excellent idea, though I seem to have come down with a bug. I returned early from yoga this morning, crawled back into bed and slept for 2 hours. I will stay just outside the kitchen door so I can enjoy the company whilst avoiding sharing the unpleasant bug with anyone.

Sorry, didn't mean to shout but I've had a frustrating day! I took a fractious baby to the out of town shopping area, put her in the pushchair and did loads of shopping while she slept. We got back to the car and she started wailing, I put her in the car (still wailing) then couldn't collapse the flipping pushchair! So, I drove home with a howling baby in the back and an uncollapsed pushchair in the passenger seat while I sang 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat' and 'The Wheels on the Bus' at full volume! I think I need Bucks Fizz too!!
