Well of course we all know there is still racial bigotry in the Southern States of America. It runs very deep. What has that got to with the price of fish though? We know America is a sick society in several ways.

This thread is not 'degenerating' - I am saying there are parralels with other situations in other parts of the world, not linked to Islam. Some disagree. That's ok.

Both the weiko siege and the Oklahoma bombings were in the U.S. (obviously) where we know there exists a lot of mentally unbalanced freaks. Those freaks are as likely to pin their colours to a religion as anything else. Nothing to do with true Christianity. Stop clutching at straws.

Jane I saw Jon Stewart show too- he is fantastic. And I think he is saying just that, that this is a racist crime- he talks about the Confederate flag flying in Southern States, the roads being named after Confederate Generals, etc. There is still a huge difference in attitude from the North to the South- with Virginia being just north of that line. We have many friends there, who teach and analyse politics at the highest level- and we have often discussed the still pervading views of white spuprmacist confederate views in the deep South.

Do read 'Mudbound' if you get a chance. Many Americans do decry white supremacy, but in the deep South, there is still a significant % of people who still support those views. Jon says just that, if you listen to him again.

This is not in any way inciting hatred, but a Forum discussion on the other side of the world, which is saying that a lot of hate crime has nothing to do with Islam, or the misrepresentation of Islam.

Granjura I think your comment Actually, in the Southern States, White Christians treat Black Christians as heavens and trass- so perhaps even worse (sic) is quite a unjustified generalisation, and should actually be deleted from this thread on the grounds of inaccuracy, and incitement to hatred.

Many Americans hate the racism endemic in their country and want the gun laws abolished too.
