What a gem Soop!
You have enough on your plate these days without wretched car problems as well.
I have now heard from my sister re our possible, "long lost" half brother and sadly her reaction has been entirely negative, she feels very angry that he is " interfering" in our lives and wants nothing to do with him. I can understand that this is much more earth shattering for her, if true ( and even with certificates etc who's to really know, without DNA sampling) as she would have been no more than a baby/toddler when it happened. I think I might feel bitterness and anger at having to question my father's memory in her place. It isn't always all Davina McCall happy reunions is it ?
I don't want her to feel I am going behind her back, but I think I am entitled to act independently, here, just hope it doesn't drive a bigger wedge between us, as there have been issues in the past

MacS is going to need a wee dram or three after all that traipsing around - perhaps the garage might deliver the car back to you when it's repaired if asked vairy nicely??

The garage phoned at 3 o'clock to say that the repair had been completed. MacS waited for the bus to Campbeltown, caught it and disappeared down the road. Moments later, another phone call from the garage. "Has he left yet?" I confirmed that he was on his way. "Only the car won't start...there is another problem..." As the buses are infrequent it has been suggested that one of the garage owner's lads will give MacS a lift home. It's a 50 mile round trip. Yep! He'll appreciate a wee dram.

That's good to know a close eye is being kept on MacS, and a wee dram might be beneficial (the latter purely for medicinal purposes of course!)

The doctor 'phoned a short time ago. Blood test results back and show slight on-going changes (to be expected) so he wishes to repeat the test in 10 days time. His potassium level is a little worrying, in spite of the fact that MacSporran regularly eats all the foods the doctor recommends. This particular doctor takes a great deal of care with his patients. Such a comfort.

Good morning to our lovely Kitcheners. It is once again a grey, damp day. Thankfully the wind has abated. It isn't quite as cold as it was yesterday.

MacSporran has taken the car to the garage in Campbeltown. Two springs need replacing. As we were driving out of the drive recently, we heard an enormous crack. The roads are badly pot-holed in our area. It isn't possible to avoid every one and consequently the car suffers from on-going problems with the suspension. Yet another bill to look forward to.

loopylou Ever since we moved here, I've taken hundreds of photographs of sunsets. All very different. I am constantly promising myself that there is no need to continue adding to the collection. Sometimes I sit on my hands...as if to persuade myself to stay put. As a rule, I resist for just a wee while...and then I'm up and snapping away. No harm done.

Alea and Lona Today is our grandson's 16th birthday. Oooh...I thought to myself...a very good reason to enjoy a celebratory wee dram this evening. Needs must (on special occasions)

I also hope that the visit to Stratford-upon-Avon can be enjoyed by both you and your sister. I have fond memories of taking afternoon tea in the garden of a riverside hotel in Stratford. My late Nana and I had to share the jam and cream with some boozy wasps. The weather was glorious. In spite of the wasps, we had a marvellous outing.

Today I shall share three, very different sunsets with you lot...all taken (recently) through the sitting room window.

I'm still at my sister's and feeling quite lazy, having no immediate responsibilities with which to concern myself.

Dear sister gave us a fright last evening when she choked on one of her tablets. She has a secondary tumour in her throat so we think the tablet got stuck, but it gave her a nasty turn and she isn't too good today.

Tomorrow we are due to go to Stratford-upon-Avon for a couple of days so I do hope she will feel up to it.

Took Jasper, the large, black, seventeen-year-old cat to the cattery today. What luxury! His own room with heated cushion, upstairs sleeping quarters, and radio 4 on for entertainment

Weather here is chilly and dull but I'm still very glad to be here. They are having record temperatures in Malta and most people have had enough of it.

Good advice from Alea as to how MacS is feeling. I hope the next visit to the doc will lift your spirits somewhat

Alea I'm excited for you too! I'm an only child and I always wanted a brother.

Ooh, or perhaps a restorative dram to mcsporran. Blood tests are frequently scary, when the doctor says "Hmm, I see your creatinine is high, or your something else is low" it is like the mechanic at the garage lifting the bonnet on your trusty motor and whistling through his teeth, sharp intake of breath and slow shaking of the head from side to side.

These things are measured to a very fine line and we have found that results can vary from week to week. A wise doctor once said to me (when I was panicking that DH seemed to be "flatlining") " when in doubt, look at the patient first. So what I am saying is, how is mcsporran feeling in himself? II
F he is feeling under the weather this should be borne out by the blood test, if he is feeling absolutely fine, hang on to that.
BTW my Photobook is being printed by a company calle CEWE (others are available) and what you do is put all the pics you want to use in a folder on your computer, open the CEWE app, choose the size etc of book you want to produce, open a "blank" the just drag your pics across to each page in turn. Pay them some money and that is it! At least that is more or less what you do, I did much of mine by trial and error which is why it took me so long! I hope to have it back within the week.

annsixty You are correct in thinking that MacS's condition (at the moment) is a wait and see scenario. The white blood cells are not maturing as they should. His system would not be able to combat infection effectively. He appears to be at the slightly below borderline stage on all counts. When he eventually needs chemotherapy, he will feel very much worse than he does at present. In spirit he remains positive. Long may this continue to be the case.

I hope your DH gets news of more treatment soop although I seem to think that it was a wait and see scenario. Perhaps they will start some now,which can only be a good thing.
