I passed on the links to my friend, but she says that the thought of driving down there in the winter is too awful to contemplate - it's not a good drive to Sudbury from where we live and I wouldn't want to do it. We shall just have to hope that a club comes to Bury St E at some point.
Alea I enjoyed reading about your meeting with your half brother and his wife. I'm also very pleased to hear that you will keep in touch with each other from hereon. The gift of the photo book must have thrilled him. Good for you. It couldn't have been easy for you to begin with. You are very brave.
pompa Your story sounds almost too good to be true. The ukulele was meant for you. Oh happy Mrs pompa...you will be serenading her as the sun goes down.
I'm including photos taken in the Linda MacCartney's memorial garden in the heart of Campbeltown. It is such a peaceful and beautiful tribute to her.
janerowena, get your friend to start a group in Bury. Our U3A group started with just 3 members, we are now 7 and meet in a members lounge. Even beginners an help each other, you don't have to have an experienced leader. I'm sure a card in Tesco's etc would soon get a group going. Another advantage of starting a group is that you can decide the day/time.
There are so many free instructional videos on t'internet that you could watch and learn from as a group.
number the garden is very close to the care home. I love it.
pompa Bless your cotton socks, it really is a huge treat to have you back with us lot
I shall be celebrating my 74th birthday tomorrow. We are taking the short ferry journey over to the nearby island of Gigha. A new-ish restaurant situated by the water's edge has been recommended to us. The weather is most definitely improving. The sun will shine again tomorrow (I believe)...I may not pop into our kitchen until late afternoon. In the meantime, continue to be kind to each other because you are all very special peoples (as Torben is known to say.)
soop many happy returns for tomorrow. Hope you enjoy your meal. Here's is a birthday for you to nibble on when you return. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Great to to have you back again pompa, we have missed you. Have a good weekend everyone. Come on pompa show us what you can do with your ukulele
Soop, Many Happy Returns of the Day for tomorrow. Have a lovely visit to Gigha, if the restaurant is new we won`t have been to it then, have a lovely meal.
Today was DH's 70th and he has been really spoiled with presents, long walks with DD2 and then it was spoiled by watching his team LOSE on the TV as he and the other (family) supporters ate enough pizza to sink a football team.
Happy birthday soop. I know of one very disgruntled 4 legged beastie boy who will not be very happy that you and McSporran have the temerity to leave him for so long. Enjoy lunch and as it is close to the sea- the view will be fabulous.
Happy birthday soop You share it with my daughter. I have just posted on her FB page a picture of her hospital baby band and one of her in her paddling pool dress nappy and all.
Many, many happy returns of the day soop. Have a wonderful meal tonight. You are my age now but I will be changing that next month! Anyway that's no age at all. Many more to come xx
