Well Andy is putting up a good fight but Federer is playing like the genius he is - unstoppable. The speed of his second serve is astonishing. Quick salad tea, hastily thrown together, in front of the TV for me.

annodomini Fri 10-Jul-15 18:00:18

Getting concerned about my blood pressure! Federer seems to be back to his very best. tennis tennis tennis

Charleygirl Fri 10-Jul-15 17:58:02

I fear that it may be an early supper for me this evening as Roger is indeed on fire. I do not know how Andy is going to break serve.

soop Fri 10-Jul-15 17:56:02

Lona you, my dear, are so right. hmm

soop Fri 10-Jul-15 17:55:08

Alea I am beside myself with whatever it is that happens in any Andy match. I am hoarse. I am in bits. Two sets to Roger. I fear the worst. Must away to have a cup of tea. Miracles can and do happen...sometimes.

Until tomorrow. smile moon

Alea Fri 10-Jul-15 17:17:37

Forgot to add my congratulations to both Gagagran and Annsixty. A day to remember!! winesunshine and flowers

soop Fri 10-Jul-15 17:09:31

Gagagran Lots of special congratulations on what is a super special occasion. I shall raise a glass of cheer to you this evening. flowers

Alea I am suffering...as is the norm when our Andy has an important match. tennis hmm

annsixty At about this time 42 years ago, I was having the first of many contractions. My third son arrived the following day. grin

Alea Fri 10-Jul-15 16:50:27

Who's still got fingernails? 5 - 5 in the first set shock

annsixty Fri 10-Jul-15 15:25:21

While Gagagran was celebrating her nuptials I was in labour. My DD is 50 today. It is beautiful here and a lovely weekend for golden celebrations. Congratulations and enjoy your family.

annodomini Fri 10-Jul-15 15:11:37

Thank you for letting us share your Golden Wedding goodies, gagagran. What a lovely celebration you're having. Love and best wishes to both of you. flowers

Gagagran Fri 10-Jul-15 14:47:43

I've just left a tray of cake for everyone. There's lemon drizzle, coffee and walnut and golden sultana sponge. I took it for my WI chums this morning to celebrate our Golden Wedding and there is enough left over for the kitcheners too!

Awaiting the arrival of DDiL and DGDs driving down to us on the SE Hampshire coast from Essex so I hope the M25 is not too bad. DS is flying in from a business trip to India and will be with us this evening. DD and family will be here tomorrow so my cup will then well and truly overflow with joy!

Beautiful day here, unlike 10 July 1965 which was dull and cloudy with rain threatening! We were married in a little Yorkshire country church (which has featured on Last of the Summer Wine) and had lunch reception at a country inn then a week on honeymoon in Edinburgh. Came back broke with £5 to last us a fortnight until pay day! It's been a good 50 years. smile

soop Fri 10-Jul-15 14:22:51

Galen What's the weather like up there in the back of beyond? wink

soop Fri 10-Jul-15 14:20:48

Charleygirl a gentle (hug) smile

soop Fri 10-Jul-15 14:20:07

Home again having visited the care home. Must watch the match. Pot of coffee at the ready. I shall return after Andy's match. Let's go, ANDY tennis tennis tennis

Charleygirl Fri 10-Jul-15 11:31:26

Another glorious day here today- perfect for Wimbledon. I am trying to get the washing washed and dried so that Andy has my undivided attention. I think that Novak's match will be over in 3 sets so we will not I hope be sitting on the edge of our chairs for the entire evening waiting for Andy.

Andy will benefit the longer that his match goes on as commentators have mentioned that Roger tires now if it is a 5 setter.

Tara is still enjoying the lovely weather- I rarely see her but she does come to bed at night for a few cuddles.

loopylou Fri 10-Jul-15 07:16:08

Poor you Galen!
I'm sure the Spacestation will be by soon so you can hitch a lift home on the next space shuttle/ rocket or whatever hmm

Crafting Thu 09-Jul-15 21:51:51

Soop honestly! I never thought you would do it. Poor Galen. Don't worry, I'll try throwing something to knock you out of orbit and bring you safely back to earth. Stand by, here we go.....tennis tennis tennis . hmm nope, that didn't work. I'll try throwing something bigger roastchicken roastchicken. grin

Alea Thu 09-Jul-15 17:40:11

I too have not warmed to her, I fear because she is such an intimidating opponent , but she played superbly today and if I could only see more of her sense of humour and a little fallibility in her personality I would be happy to eat my words!!
Sharapova is the most graceful looking player though -those legs, those shoulders! But she got off lightly today (apart from a late burst shortly before the end) and no way did she look as if she could or would beat Serena. Let's see what Saturday brings!

Tegan Thu 09-Jul-15 17:20:49

I've never been a fan of Serena Williams [much prefer Venus who I think is adorable] but I have to say I'm finding her tennis this Wimbledon absolutely awesome.

Charleygirl Thu 09-Jul-15 16:34:08

Thanks anno- I will be glad when I am seen next Wednesday at the # clinic because my foot should not be becoming more painful. The problem is that all of the hired staff are on holiday indefinitely so I am very much on my own. I have just completed an on line shop but miserly me was looking for a cheap slot and found one for £1 on Monday 8-9pm.

I also had a DIY man here for a couple of hours today doing a few jobs so I now have a shower without minute holes in the sealant, if and when I ever manage to have one- I can dream. It will probably be another 5 weeks, keep the windows closed!

Galen Thu 09-Jul-15 15:04:49

I'm in orbit!

annodomini Thu 09-Jul-15 14:24:58

BTW, Charleygirl, how is your poor foot today? Better, I hope, and not causing you sleepless nights.
