Me too pompa. Cheers to you and Mrs.P
However G&Ts after lunch make me realise what a good life we have had,
pompa I've just seen your message. It has made me hoot with laughter. x
Gaga I'm most certainly am in the mood for a freshly baked fluffy scone, home-made jam AND clotted cream. Oh joy! My mouth is watering with the mere notion of such a treat.
The dear GP who called round last evening is Dr Cornfeld...He certainly is not a Scot. But he is lovely with it.
It is time for me to hasten away to attend to stuff aboot the hoos. MacSporran and Rory have been busy in the garden. Clouds are gathering over the islands. I sense that rain is in the air.
Love to you all. I shall be with you again tomorrow. I hope that you enjoy a peaceful and restful evening. x
Must refrain from the G&Ts mid afternoon, just said Mrs P hasn't got wingo bings
Oh dear - soop and MacS what a pair you are - we really need you fit and well and allowing our continued unfettered access to the Kintyre version of Brigadoon. All my sympathies are with you both and I am hoping that Dr Finlay or Cameron or whatever your lovely GP 's name is can sort you both out very soon. (((hugs))) to you both and a wee dram too if that would help.
I have left a large plate of freshly made fluffy scones, a jar of home-made strawberry jam and some clotted cream on the table so please indulge (all calorie free of course). I think we all need a little indulgence now and then.
Wishing you both well soop but good to hear you have a GP who is on the ball.
I totally agree with Lona- we cannot have two in the same house under the weather, especially if repeat surgery maybe on the cards for you.
You are lucky to have such a good GP- they are few and far between.
Lona I am susceptible to hernias having had surgery for a femoral hernia, inguinal hernia, rectal prolapse and take on-going medication for a hiatus hernia. None of which is life threatening. I grin and bear it...though I would be eternally grateful for an end to the "pain in the arse"...it is a blight on my daily life. Sigh!
MacSporran is to have a scan on his aortic aneurysm very soon. His health issues are serious. Mine...merely a nuisance.
It is a beautiful day in bonnie Kintyre. The air is soft. Barely a breeze to ruffle the water.
I'm about to scan through arty-farty stuff on eBay. Now that I have a proper easel, I feel duty bound to replace a few tatty worn out brushes.
Oh soop what a pain in the proverbial! I'm so sorry that you've got this problem again.
How nice though, that your doctor takes such good care of you. You really don't need this as well as MacS not being quite as well as he was.
xx
correction...his best
A very good Saturday afternoon to our lovely Kitcheners.
Charleygirl When Louis received his results, he was "a trifle disappointed..." I KNOW for certain that he has worked hard and done is BEST. I told him that, the word "disappointed" is a long way off the mark and that he deserves to feel very happy and well satisfied.
janer How are you today? Is the sun shining? Will you be gardening? I shall include a photo of a beautiful lily that I happened across earlier today.
Many of my Granspals will remember that I had a rectocele repair about three years ago. At the time I was informed that the surgery may need to be repeated. The procedure isn't always 100% successful. Well, the bloody hernia has returned to give me an uncomfortable/embarrassing time. I also have a cystocele and this often results in UTIs. Just lately my urine has had an awful metallic odour. I happened to have a specimen bottle in the bathroom cabinet and decided to drop a sample into the surgery...together with a little note saying that I wondered if the practice nurse would test it with a dip-stick thingy. At 7.30 yesterday evening, the doctor phoned. He confirmed my suspicions. What is surprising/gratifying is that he called at our home with a prescription for Nitrofurantoin which he wanted me start without delay. As he was leaving, I hinted that the hernia repair may require further attention. I expect therefore that there will be more toing and froing to hospital outpatients ahead.
I do feel for your poor friend, soop. I would hate it too, you are very good to visit as often as you do.
My DD had to have her gallstones removed a couple of years ago. She asked to keep them, and wasn't allowed to! She was quite miffed.
soop your grandson did so well- he can now enjoy the remainder of his holiday now that the results are in.
Is the new hospital replacing Glasgow Royal? I cannot keep up with the hospitals in Edinburgh, Dundee and now Glasgow.
bags me ole pal, how lovely of you drop in with a big plate of freshly baked cookies Such a treat! Should you be digging, bags?
We had unexpected visitors from as far afield as southern England. They will be motoring to Fort William tomorrow. They've enjoyed good weather. Reported seeing at least 50 very large jellyfish at Skipness. They also relished a visit to the popular café at Southend. The one that Marelli recommends.
Our pal has had his knee replacement surgery. All is well. He is lucky to be in the brand new Glasgow hospital and he hopes to be discharged and returning home on Tuesday.
Made some cookies (cranberry and choc chip) before I went and dug out a cotoneaster and got very muddy and midge bitten. Now showered and sweet smelling again and have come in here for a collapse and a cookie or three. Help yourselves.
Very sad for your friend, soop, but I'm sure he appreciates your visits.
It is fine and warm in bonnie Kintyre. Good afternoon to our lovely Kitcheners
Our pal who now resides in the care home, was confined to his bed today. Although he tried not to be negative, we could feel his frustration. He feels "incarcerated" he feels "forgotten" and he feels like exploding with expletives because he cannot visualise a time when he will have recovered well enough to be able to go home. He is, at heart, a cheerful soul. He counts his blessings and is a pleasure to visit. We both feel sad on his behalf. If he and his wife had a larger home and could accommodate the various contraptions necessary for moving him from A to B...and...if they could afford a full-time carer to live in with them, then that would be ideal. All the wishing in the world isn't going to change the status quo.
Alea My father liked Sir Harry and that particular song. It certainly lifts the spirits.
Our grandson, Will, is 24 today. Here is a photo of him when he was a wee lad. At the time he had hurt himself and was feeling in need of a granny cuddle.

Another of my Dad's favourites.
"Keep right on to the end of the road" I have always found this moving and inspiring. If you like Sir Harry Lauder, I hope this gets your day off to a good start.
KBO! (keep bu**ering on!)
Poor you soop
Congratulations to you GS, will raise a
tonight.
They didn't rattle but they caused awful nausea and the pain (when one became stuck) was a nightmare.
I'm about to brag...No! Really!
Our grandson, Louie, achieved 3 A's and 7 B's in his GCSE. WELL done, that boy! May need to celebrate with a wee dram later.
Tomorrow we'll be visiting our pal in the care home. I shall pop in just as soon as we return home. Lots of love to you all.
Oh my goodness, just imagine walking around with those inside you! Did they rattle when you ran?
Ooh soop that must have been really painful. I had no idea they looked like that, were so big, or could be so many.
I'm not sure my friend is going to keep her gall stones. She had kidney stones out a few months ago, so was not well pleased to be in hospital twice in three months.
Grannyeggs You are so right...getting rid of "stuff" is good for the soul. I love the "half burnt out birthday candle..." I tend to keep favourite greetings cards. I have two boxes that are full to the rim. I would find it nigh on impossible to dispose of them.
I had my gall bladder removed before we moved to Scotland. The GP called in three nights on the trot to give me morphine because the pain was horrendous. He then said...let's have it out. I have a little jar containing the offending 19 pyramid-shaped gall stones.
