If cards are to children-in-law for their own birthdays then signed with Christian names.

My childrens father always wanted to be called by his Christian name which meant that a lot of people assumed he was their stepfather not father. Now he's older he seems to want to be called 'Dad' and signs all cards 'dad' but they can't stop calling him by his name. I sometimes think it affected his relationship with them . I do sometimes want to buy cards for my family that are just from 'me' and not me and the S.O. and he'll say 'just add my name to it' and doesn't understand why I don't want to.

I would have just put 'Granny and Grandad'. It's our present role, and the best of the lot.

I have done just as you have Katek, except on the odd occasions when we buy separate cards for the GC. That is rare, however.

DH only wants to be known by his forename to everyone and doesn't- the children and grandchildren all call me Mumma so its love from Mumma and P****.

Doesn't apply anymore but I would just have written Love from Mum & Dad.

Don't usually put gran/dad as little ones usually have their own cards. House moving cards would, of course, include them too !
