I typed something similar, phoenix, but then the tab closed down and I lost it (not about going tomorrow and cooking for Mr P you understand ).
The thing about Lidl is that you see just what you want, but it is in last week's magazine and the item has sold out or disappeared, never to be seen again. What do they do with it all if they don't sell it?
Oooh, Lidl and Asda, well. I will have to make a trip there, thanks folks.Yes, anno, I may have to order online in the end, but I usually like to see what I'm buying.
hilda, yes, hadn't thought of the Christmas stuff, you may well be right, I shall leave it for a while. RQ, yes, I have trawled all those sort of places, and there were pink, purple and turquoise candles, or pale church candles, but nothing else. It's just the same when you want to buy clothes I find, and when you don't want to buy them see lots of nice things. Sods Law.
Christmas stuff was on display in a local garden centre on Tuesday.....grrrrr
Do you have a shop nearby that sells gifts, upmarket household non-essentials etc - or a large greetings card shop eg clintons, they sometimes sell candles
If you can wait a couple of weeks, when the stores begin putting out their Christmas displays, I bet you will be spoilt for choice. It's like trying to buy suet in Sainsbury's in Summer. Not a chance, apparently it's seasonal!
have been looking for a buff/ivory/pale gold pillar candle for the last couple of weeks. When you don't want to buy one, tons of shops/ garden centres have whole stands of them. now that I do, nobody has them!Spent all morning at the garden centre, and came back with all sorts of things, but not a candle.Grrrrr.
