And on the subject of smells, did you know that an easy way to disperse the unpleasant aromas in the loo is to strike a match and let it burn down? (Cue jokes about naked flames and methane )

My MIL used to swear by chopped-up onions to get rid of the smell of new paint.
Only to be used if you prefer the smell of onions!

I get those from Lakeland kitty but have only used them while cooking.I have never tried them to get rid of a smell afterwards when it seems to get into fabrics etc and only time works then. Worth a try.

there is one called Cooks Candle (or something like that!) made by Prices. I burn that when I've been doing anything smelly. It doesn't smell much of anything.

I would burn lots of scented candles and oil burners. Usually works for me.
