First record you bought

We didn't have a record player, we had a reel to reel tape recorder. We used to set up the microphone and record Top of the Pops. When we did eventually catch up with everyone else and get a record player the first one I bought was "It must be love" by Labi Siffre. I still like that song.

I don't remember the first single but my first LP was 'Tommy' by The Who

Lonnie Donegan's 'Lost John' - a 78rpm. I still remember the purple Pye label!
