Oh Roses, I loved The Children of Green Knowe. My youngest son introduced me to the books a long time ago, and I devoured them. I wrote to the author, Lucy Boston, and received a lovely postcard reply, which I unfortunately lost it when " refreshing" the lounge.

Is this the wonderful story where one of the characters walks into a painting and joins another world? If so I just loved it.

I only remember this being on tv for the children, and very good it was too.Another good tv series was The Children Of Green Knowe.

Does anyone remember this on Children's Hour in the 1940s? It was a 10- or 12-part serial, I think. I was completely enthralled by it. Sadly, the recording of this has been lost, replaced by the television versions.

I'm giving the BBC TV version to my DS and his family. I just so hope they enjoy it even half as much as I enjoyed it on the radio (wireless!) all those years ago.
