Wisnae me neither, phoenix. I can't imagine any of the Scottish grans that I have met would have done such a thing, or any whose posts I have read. It must have been someone completely outside Gransnet, one of those trolls who occasionally appear and stir up trouble.
Lining the litter tray is the best place for it. Put it out of your mind.
Thanks jings, although I think the "why" is pretty obvious, as in wanting to jeopardise my job, although the other "why" as in why would anyone want to do something so nasty, is still a bit beyond me
There are 4 cities north of the border, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth. I have been a member here for nearly 3 years and I have noticed that there are many who live in and around Edinburgh- surely not?
I must admit I am struggling to understand how somebody knows how to do such a thing. I also fail to comprehend why somebody has such an obvious nasty streak they do something so 'targeted' against you? B----y hell that was personal.
I agree with Anna the postmark only proves where it was posted from and whoever sent it might have thought they were being clever using a red herring. Then again they do sound as though they only have one miniscule brain cell and even that one brain cell is tinged with nastiness.
I hope it was not a gransnetter we would all feel miserable thinking we might have engaged with him/her ourselves and he/she obviously has a problem.
CharleygirlThe grans who post from around Edinburgh wouldn't do something like that. We meet up frequently so we all know one another, and it would be completely out of character. Neither would any of those from other parts of Scotland.
I think the "north of the border" postmark is a red herring - it may have been someone passing through. Either that or it is someone who read the thread without joining, or just joined briefly then left (with a flea in their ear?)
POGS It would have been easy enough to do it, if they copied the thread before it was deleted and just paid attention when phoenix told us the good news of her job.
Not as easy to be nasty enough to try to disrupt someone's life with such a mean trick though. Definitely a sandwich short of a picnic, or a screw loose.
I'm not sure which thread it was, but wouldn't it have been a while ago? Why on earth would someone copy it before it was deleted then hang on to it for so long?
I'm sure all our amateur sleuthing isn't helping, but it's such an odd thing to have done...
