soop gave me a key so her you are, folks, the new extension. Plate of crumbly oatcakes on the side there with the coffee and tea pots.

Another trip to London for a hospital appointment today.
DH is wiped out by these, but given the choice, it is still worthwhile to be treated by a centre of excellence.
Had thought they might have had a banneror the odd bit of bunting out for him though as today is the 19th annversary of his liver transplant.
Who would have thought it? Without the transplant he would have been dead within the year and before his 50th birthday.
Deo gratias and Royal Free and an anonymous donor gratias too.

soop, I'm relieved to hear that you are none the worse but I hope you do have a lie in tomorrow. You need a rest and some coddling!

Charleygirl Tue 26-Jan-16 22:18:56

soop do you still have any pain in your hip? You have had such a nasty shock that you really must take it easy for a few days. Can your friend not make other arrangements for the ironing to be done?

You and Rory can rest together, both being waited on by MacSporran. Please do not sit on the tartan rug!

Welcome grannylyn you will find that we are not sniping at each other or making sarky comments. Take your shoes off, put your feet up and enjoy a cuppa.

Lona Tue 26-Jan-16 22:11:49

soop please take it easy tomorrow(today), you've had a shock. You need to float around in your négligé and let MacS peel some grapes for you! X ??????

Hi grannylyn65, sit down and put your feet up with soop ?

Tizliz Tue 26-Jan-16 21:23:39

Yes, this is a friendly thread, some threads are not so nice. Can't believe that some posters can be nasty, it is just a chat site.

But here you can pull your chair up and have a good blether.

kittylester Tue 26-Jan-16 20:01:13

Sorry to hear about your problems soop - it never rains etc. Have a lie in and a lazy start tomorrow!

Welcome grannylyn, it is a friendly place!

grannylyn65 Tue 26-Jan-16 18:32:03

Hi, I hear this is a nice friendly place to stop by, so may I join?

soop Tue 26-Jan-16 17:45:56

Time flies! I was thinking that the time was about five-ish. Came as a shock to discover that it's not far off six.

Time to log off. Tidy the 'puter desk. Have yet another wee. Totter off to do something sort of useful...pussy cats waiting.

Love to you all. moon

soop Tue 26-Jan-16 17:41:48

Hah! I don't have Apple. I like the wee bugs. I'm a tad envious. They are subtle. I like subtle.

TriciaF thank you.

My pal has phoned to say that there isn't enough ironing for me to do tomorrow. Would I mind doing extra next Wednesday? I cannot tell you how chuffed I am. When I awoke this morning it took an enormous amount of will power to get out of bed and ready for the care home visit. Tomorrow I may have a wee lie-in. Tomorrow MacSporran is to craft a couple of crutches for the broken easel. Don't laugh...

thatbags Tue 26-Jan-16 16:07:45

Hello, soop. Glad you're allright and I hope the easel is mendable. The wee flower is one of those available on Apple machines. There are lots. Wee beasties too: ?????

TriciaF Tue 26-Jan-16 16:00:05

Glad you're up and about again, but do take care!

soop Tue 26-Jan-16 15:34:03

hmm Thank you dear bags. I've just this minute dismounted from the exercise bike...gingerly. I feel more concerned about the easel. MacSporran thinks that he'll be able to repair it. It looks awfully sorry for itself. Where does one find the wee flower at the end of your message?

thatbags Tue 26-Jan-16 13:52:35

I'm glad you are no worse for wear than that, soop, though that is bad enough. ??

soop Tue 26-Jan-16 13:33:28

Hello my darling kitcheners...thank you for the many caring comments. I feel better than I did last evening. There's an egg shape lump on the side of my head and the left hip is sore and bruised. No real damage done. Thank goodness!

I've been sitting with M in the care home. She looked awfully pale and is still grieving for the friend that died about ten days ago. She wore her scarf...the one that she believes goes on regular walkabouts. Every so often she fusses with it and says thankyou. She tells me that she is "old and tired but feels better when I visit.' She is a lovely lady.
The fire alarm drill takes place every Tuesday. I sometimes think that, for some, it is the only highlight in a long day. However, the carers are truly kind and compassionate. What's more, the home is clean and tidy. At mealtimes a fresh tablecloth is laid. A runner down the middle of the table. Freshly laundered linen napkins for the use of. The food is also appetising. M hasn't much of an appetite at the moment. She tries to feed me her scone and wedge of orange. No matter, I already have my tea and scone...but she believes that I need feeding up.

shock Soop. You must be feeling a bit battered and bruised. Take it easy and rest for a few days. No running around looking after everyone else. Time for you to look after yourself. ((Hugs))

baubles Mon 25-Jan-16 22:27:59

Soop I hope you're recovering from the shock. Please take it easy over the next few days. sad flowersmoon

Charleygirl Mon 25-Jan-16 22:09:38

Tizliz re your question. If you type in the star or whatever it is called above no.8 on your keyboard at each side of the name, it will come up bold.

soop I do hope that you have not injured yourself. I am well aware that your "local" is miles away. You must rest and take it easy tomorrow- take a leaf out of Rory's book and have long snoozes. Have you got pain relief because you may not notice the pain for some time. You will be black and blue tomorrow. Thank goodness that MacSporran was at home.

Tizliz Mon 25-Jan-16 21:48:54

Just a side issue, why when everyone else types a name it comes up in bold but not when I do it. Does it happen automatically or do you all use the bold symbols?

Soop sorry you had a fall, it gives the whole body a shock even without the bruises.

Not feeling like chatting yet but we will survive.

annodomini Mon 25-Jan-16 21:47:58

What a difference a vowel makes!grin

Crafting Mon 25-Jan-16 21:26:41

hmm take anno's advice not mine ...don't take car take care! smile

Crafting Mon 25-Jan-16 21:25:12

Soop what a shock shock. Take car and do not rush about too much tomorrow. Hope you feel better in the morning.

Thank you TriciaF. It's always difficult to deal with the youngsters problems. They seem so vulnerable and all we want is for them to be happy. It makes me so sad for the family too.

annodomini Mon 25-Jan-16 21:18:07

soop, what a nasty accident. It sounds as if you are concussed and if you are you should take it very easy for a day or two. Speaking from experience of course! It's not a good idea to drive in the circumstances. Please look after yourself. flowers

loopylou Mon 25-Jan-16 20:50:26

Ouch! That sounds really painful soop, I hope you won't feel too sore tomorrow.
Hugs, ? and please take care x

ffinnochio Mon 25-Jan-16 17:53:21

Oh dear, soop. Do take things easy for a while. Bicycle clips for you, my girl! ??

TriciaF Mon 25-Jan-16 17:27:35

Oh dear! - it sounds like a fall off a step ladder I had last March, bruised my hip which has been "replaced", and I was semi concussed, hit my head on the lawn mower.
Take it easy for a few days the bruising will probably last for a while.
