soop gave me a key so her you are, folks, the new extension. Plate of crumbly oatcakes on the side there with the coffee and tea pots.

Hello to our Kitcheners...very mild and murky in bonnie Kintyre. Not what you would call "seasonal".

The care home Christmas party is taking place right now. All the ladies have had their hair coiffed and nails manicured. A dear man, G, was wearing a new beanie hat in honour of the occasion.

We had a lunchtime treat...mince pie and coffee in the Royal. Every week we meet the same folk. The atmosphere is friendly and all comers receive a warm welcome.

I'm now about to dress the wee tree.

Good news Alea now you can relax and enjoy the wedding.

Galen have a wonderful cruise. I am tchenvy. If you think they might confiscate your supplies, you could leave them here in the kitchen with us. I promise not to touch a drop tchgrin

Luckygirl Thu 17-Dec-15 17:35:24

Perhaps you sent the two together!

annodomini Thu 17-Dec-15 17:29:18

You are not alone, loopy. I bought two National Trust calendars. One has gone off to New Zealand but where have I put the other one? I've looked in every possible place, but it's not there!

loopylou Thu 17-Dec-15 17:09:44

Any marbles going spare soop? I've put some birthday presents somewhere very safe....so safe in fact, that I can't find them tchhmm

I'm another one who enjoys a really good sort out and furniture reshuffle- DH is resigned to humouring me (and often reshuffling it back again!)
Don't think there will be one before Christmas though tchsmile

Alea Thu 17-Dec-15 16:59:25

Why on earth. . . . soop??
I usually find that when I take the cards and any Christmas decs down in January I am shamed into a bit of a big clean, but before? tchconfused??

soop Thu 17-Dec-15 16:11:48

It is almost dark and I've much to do. Decided to strip the sitting room and shift furniture...much as bags has been doing. Rory isn't amused. I've put his rugs into the wash. Now why does she need to do that? He thinks.

MacSporran is removing useless clutter from the loft. I do so love it when I see how much neater it appears.

Care home visit in the morning. Does anyone else gasp at the rate the days pass? I find it difficult to keep up with myself.

Enjoy a peaceful evening. I shall return tomorrow afternoon for catch-up.

It is such a treat to pop into our kitchen and see that some very good pals have joined us. Makes my day. tchsmile

I've completed an IQ test on FB. Although it was easy-ish to start with, as the quiz progressed, the test became much trickier. Well, guess what...I scored top marks. I'm in the top 4% of people who pass the test. I know full well that I'm bragging something rotten. I'm chuffed because just lately I've imagined that I'm losing the plot. It is a comfort to know that I've a good supply of marbles that continue to function.

Festive greetings to all our Kitcheners. Our plan is to enjoy a few simple treats and above all else, to count our blessings because there are countless people without good health, home, companionship or support.

annsixty Thu 17-Dec-15 11:32:27

I think they have trained sniffer dogs at the top of the gang plank. They are not going to lose any of the huge profit they make on booze tchgrin

Luckygirl Thu 17-Dec-15 10:59:11

Galen - could you not acquire some large medicine bottles (like those big lactulose bottles), wash them thoroughly, and then fill them with something far more therapeutic?! grin

POGS Thu 17-Dec-15 10:07:27

soop

Funny weather indeed, we have flowers blooming as though it was summer and I saw a daffodil in a garden yesterday, that's in the Midlands.

I hope you are both well and may I send you and McSporran a virtual Christmas card with good wishes 2016 will be kind to us all.

Alea, great news re the scan, and don`t worry about Grace, she may sulk for a while, but she`ll be OK. Enjoy the wedding.
Galen, have a fantastic time on your cruise.

thatbags Wed 16-Dec-15 21:33:43

Musicians I used to babysit for back in my Dundee days said they (well, she anyway) only ever wore pearls when playing in recitals because they diffused any light that they reflected rather than dazzling anyone (including other musicians, presumably). Today's piece of erudite useless information wink

Have fun, galen and alea at your separate fun things.

Tegan Wed 16-Dec-15 18:18:37

They just don't make cones of shame that fit sighthounds sad. I think we need to come up with an idea for one that works [and make out fortune with it at the same time].

dustyangel Wed 16-Dec-15 18:16:18

Wonderful news Alea. I'm glad you got the good news before the wedding, now you can can look forward and have a wonderful time. wine

Galen dazzle them with your pearls smile.
Have a wonderful time. wine

soop Wed 16-Dec-15 18:01:17

Alea I am also delighted to hear that the scan was as you'd hoped. I shall be thinking of you and hope that everything goes according to plan. Us lot will want to know all about the big day just as soon as you return. Take good care of yourself. Grace will be well looked after. tchsmile

Galen How very careless of Kate. tchhmm Knowing you...you'll get away with it. loopylou's suggestion sounds plausible. Have yourselves a super time on the high seas. Please stay away from dodgy lift doors.

Lona it is extremely mild in Kintyre. I'm wearing a cotton blouse. Yesterday I wore two sweaters. Funny old weather.

Galen Wed 16-Dec-15 17:47:29

Well if they do, they return them at the end of the cruise. They're not as strict about it as Princess which won't allow any

Lona Wed 16-Dec-15 17:44:14

How dare they Galen! Don't they know who you are?!!

Have a wonderful time! tchgrin

Galen Wed 16-Dec-15 17:38:14

They allow you one bottle. ( I've also packed a bottle of vodka! Definitely verboten)

loopylou Wed 16-Dec-15 17:15:28

Confiscate them?

Really? That's bl...y mean Galen! Tell them it's medicinal. For low blood pressure or indigestion or something.

Galen Wed 16-Dec-15 17:12:04

I'm more worried they might confiscate them!

Alea Wed 16-Dec-15 17:08:10

Oh how awful!! You might have to drink them tchsad

Galen Wed 16-Dec-15 17:06:28

Thanks all!
Packing done, but I'm a little worried that Kate has packed two bottles of champagne rather than the one I meant to take!shock

loopylou Wed 16-Dec-15 16:53:45

Hooray Alea for DD's scan, what a relief for you all.
Poor dd (aka Daft Dog aka Grace),, not impressed is she, poor sausage.
I do hope your DH's blood is just an annoying blip, goodness knows you have enough on your plates at the moment!
Here's to a wonderful wedding ?
