Very interesting to read Greenock Grans post. I have the reverse problem. From the age of 16, I appeared in countless shows (West End, touring Theatre), and had small parts in TV, film and radio. I sang with bands, and had my own cabaret show that I toured the country with.
I have now retired from 'Showbiz' , but run three very successful choirs, putting on big concerts to raise money for charities.
I find it strange going from the glitz and glam, being asked for my autograph at stage doors etc to being known as "the choir lady" , and nobody knowing me as a performer.
Tell your son to make the most of it, Greenock Gran. It's not very exciting when you are NOT recognised! I have attached a pic of myself with Jon Pertwee when we worked together shortly before his death, and this Christmas, with my wonderful choirs raising £3000,
